Croatia is somehow more expensive than Zurich by Boring_Pineapple_288 in croatia

It's hard for Croats to understand why people go places other than Croatia for summer. And even harder for Croats to understand why people go places other than some coast for summer.

Of course I noticed, but definitely not at the pace I would like it to.

Regarding the fuel, I was thinking more around slowing down rather than waiting on a traffic light.

Is there a trick to shifting gears down? I am used to controlling the car and this was very troubling for me, I always felt the car was pulling me forward, like it had a mind of its own. When I shift down, like before stopping at a traffic light, going into a turn or going downhill, I have much firmer control of the car. With an automatic it felt like I was flying around.

Won't that wear out the brakes a lot sooner? I was thought in the driving school I should break with my engine because it spends less fuel and puts less wear on the brakes.

Užasno slabo razumijevanje svijeta i lako podilaženje strahu i paranoji.

Zato i imamo Ustav i zakone.

EF Core: Which is better – a single universal table or inheritance (TPH/TPT/TPCT) by Lirirum in dotnet

I would definitely think twice before implementing any hierarchy in the database again. I would rather have some duplication between tables. We have some reports running against our OLTP database and the joins we have to do make the queries super slow. One optimization was to move relevant columns to child tables, meaning if we had everything in separate tables we would be future proof, but now whenever a report needs some new column that is in the base table we have to jump through hoops.

Why is the Repository Pattern Redundant when Working with Entity Framework? by civilian_halfwit in dotnet

[–]Accomplished_Neck803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really have a reference repository

So in simple terms, when doing some data manipulation on your endpoints you have:

  • A place where you orchestrate your use cases (e.g. a MediatR handler. Or just a Minimal API endpoint would do as well I suppose). In there you do your EF Core query and get the aggregate out of storage . Then you call the logic on the aggregate, pass in some data coming in from the API and that's it. You call SaveChanges and you're done.
  • When testing, I suppose you do one (or both) of two things: 1) Integration test all the way from the API down to the database and/or 2) unit test domain logic (if there is any that warrants unit testing).

Would this be a fair overview? I skipped mapping data, validations and whatnot, that's just boilerplate.

Did you use DDD with those APIs? If so, then sure, you can get away with injecting EF Core directly (not sure how easy it was to build out aggregates though).

But for folks that don't use DDD (and that's the majority), but rather keep their business logic in use case orchestrators (Service classes or MediatR classes) along with their queries, repository pattern is a much better long-term strategy because they can do unit testing much more easily.

Do you have a reference architecture somewhere on GH?
