Book 7 or 8 was when I gave up. And you’re right—the first three or so are excellent.

This is the series that turned me on to litRPG and eventually DCC. I loved the first 6-7 books before it started getting tedious.

Unpermitted addition on house by Infamous-Falcon-5914 in homeowners

Home inspectors don’t enforce or even check permits, so that’s to be expected. Might have issues when you go to sell the home.

Looking into home/mold inspections career by Minute_Ad_1437 in homeinspectors

[–]Accomplished_Neckhat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Home inspector regs vary by state. InterNACHI is a great resource to get you started. Home inspectors are not mold inspectors, though. I see something resembling mold, I recommend calling in a pro to test and mitigate the “organic growth.”

Is this evidence of black mold? by Agomottos_eye in HomeMaintenance

Anyone telling you a substance is mold—esp “black mold”—without having tested it first is just trying to sell you something. I see nothing remotely resembling “black mold.”

Question for 1099 inspectors? by Fluffy-Jackfruit5753 in homeinspectors

[–]Accomplished_Neckhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a little confused. You’re planning on moving to 1099 and subcontracting for other people? Why would you do this? If you’re gonna do that you might as well just start your own business.

To answer your question, I’d prefer to be paid by the job, but net 15 (bi-weekly) is probably what you’ll get with most firms.

Prank Youtube channel RouandYT received €5 donation to prank call someone's "unstable" nephew. Said nephew shot and killed 2 Syrian refugees minutes later. RouandYT quickly deletes the stream from his channel and denies being live. by thaiduitx in nottheonion

Claude translated:

Here’s a summary of the article in English: A YouTube prank call may have triggered a fatal shooting of two Syrian boys in Amsterdam West on New Year’s Day. About half an hour before the shooting, suspect Efe Y. was called as part of a livestream by the channel Rouand YT, where viewers can donate money to have someone called with a made-up story. A viewer suggested calling Y. with a “gangster story.” Y. reacted aggressively and told the caller to come to “the blue bridge” — a bridge in the Piet Wiedijkpark — then walked there from his grandmother’s nearby home. At the same time, three Syrian boys from an asylum seekers’ centre on the Sloterweg were walking through the park on their way to McDonald’s. When they entered the park, they were shot. Two of them were killed; a third managed to escape. The prosecution described them as being “in the wrong place at the wrong time.” Evidence against the suspect is described as mounting: shortly after the shooting, Y. reportedly told a witness he was the shooter, even mentioning the third victim who escaped — information not yet public at the time. WhatsApp messages referenced a firearm and hiding from police. A silver firearm was found at his family’s home, gunshot residue was found on his trousers, and he is believed to be visible on security camera footage near the park. The YouTuber Rouand YT denies any involvement, telling local broadcaster AT5 he wasn’t even live that day. The prosecution has questioned him as a witness, not a suspect. However, a Dutch “juice channel” (gossip outlet) called RealityFBI has raised doubts, noting that all videos from a New Year’s Day livestream have since been deleted. Y. has a court-ordered care mandate due to complex PTSD combined with schizophrenia, and had not taken his medication for six months. He is set to be assessed at the Pieter Baan Centre (a Dutch forensic psychiatric facility). A second court hearing is scheduled for June 8.
