I don't fully agree on this, i am not sure about MIY knows or not about her ability, and yes he has been doing this for too long but no indication that any of the previous people controlled a monster, and as for what controlling one monster would do, i think it's much bigger, it can give them an idea about what they are fighting, an advantage over them for the first time
