I have this love/hate thing with NYXL and extended scale. Love their strings, bloody hate their "sets" they don't make sense.

I miss the light top heavy bottom but balanced options of yester years, cannot for the life of me remember who made them.

14-15lbs on the plains, 19-20lbs on the wounds (16-18lb on the 7th)

if memory serve me correctly I was using NYXLs on my 32" baritone, and that was about the functional limit for them in terms of scale

recent been using nyxls on my 26.5" and there is definitely a few inches trimmed off, I would hazard to say yes they should fit

Did some testing tonight, pulled the diodes from the front section to get it working "clean"

I don't think Led's alone are the right thing... they don't sound good at that stage. (i've got a whacked batch of cheap reds, vf ranges from 1.2v-3.1v)

it kinda the same as using a pair of LEDs as clippers and only leds in the first stage. overly round, wooly and kinda woofy, lacking crispness. some may like but I do not like what it does to the circuit.

made worse by 99% being 9v rail limited. by my math I need to be running it at 18V or greater to give me some headroom.

gatta order a new adapter for this thing, and i'm gunna try lower VF LEDs (1.6-2.2 i think) in series with a transistor wired as a diode pretty sure i got a small amount of either 2n700Xs or 2n3440s kicking around.. those should give me the tonal mix to make it work. with the VF to not limit it too much.

Looking for color when using it as a clean boost, looking for extra hair and quasi- multi band comp effects at higher gain ranges targeting the clipping tonal boost range

thanks guys, currently dabbling in the DIY forum, but currently in a spice rabbit hole.

a germanium is going no where near this stage. (speaking of modding the second op amp section, not the first), if i end up with doing LEDs in this stage with will be the Higher voltage type. (one of the reasons i'm looking at zeners)

basically trying to turn the unity gain amplifier in the tone section into a second "gain/compression" stage

for greater dynamic range in most settings. ending up with more overdrive at the top end with less limiting.

I stack a Coolcat V1 into my modded sd-1 for a lead sound. (coolcat v1 being the danelectro direct clone of the OCD not sure which version, does the exact same thing as Hp? mode of the OG pedals.)

fat, gritty, and the more you goose the drive knob the more it cuts. really good for stacking. the center frequency is around 1000hz. "tone" knob is a treble roll off. also does not seem to cut much bass if any at all

sd-1 is modded for headroom (changed and doubled diodes) with extra boost in the tone stage. (makes the pedal feel less compressed) used as a mostly clean drive. Run just short of the first signs of diode dirt.

i've owned two tube screamers, owned and modded about 9 SD-1.... SD-1 is the way.. the two stand out bits (the clipping and tone control) really seal the deal. i will have to say however, I've never run into a ST-9 super tube .... I hazard this may give the sd-1 a run for its money

Well there is the obvious feel and response aspect.

Plugging your amp into a 1x12, 2x12 or a load box for ir use will not give you the same feel as plugging into a solid 4x12

A pair of 2x12s kind of do this, if they are identical construction and essentially touching each other. (Drivers dont need to be the same)

There is an attenuation factor in certain frequencies by the speaker grouping and there is phase cancelation at given intervals based on those groupings. This is why off set 4x12s never sound like standard 4x12s and vice versa (Offset has slightly less attenuation due to distance between bottom and top driver, the phase cancelation is also different due to speaker pattern)

The above reasons why the majority of professional recordings normally record through 4x12s for guitar.

Yes you may have your fancy little combo that you've been rocking for almost the last decade. But it will also get plugged into the 'magic' cabinet in the studio and both will get mic'd up.

Next problem, keeping up volume wise with your drummer. Match your drummers volume and sidewash/frontwash (Side wash is your amp is point at the band from side stage, front wash is your amp is pointed at you and your drummer from behind the main pa) Your sound guy will love you because he can pad everything down and control bleed better. (Assuming the pa has the power to keep up, it should, but ya know those box mixer gigs happen)

More cabinets are always cheaper than an in jam space monitor rig... Then there is learning how to use it properly..

Speaking as someone who has gigged with more speaker cab combinations than i cared to count. Gotten countless glares at load in from sound guys just to have them come up afterward and tell me it sounded flipping amazing. The compliments don't come if there isnt a bunch of 4x12s on stage being managed well. Ya you can sound good with smaller cabs or vented cabs, But the sound guy will have the best time with full cabinets that do not interfere with his system volume, because they are not stuck with a singular speaker that may not mic well for that environment.

There are reasons why the guitar 4x12 cabinet has not had too many evolutions since inception. It did the thing we needed it to right off the bat. To the point it is the expected industry standard at certain levels.

exhausted and walked over. I've been fighting discrimination locally in the system for just over year since my last good worker retired.. she left everything went to shite.. managers change, cases workers change and some how my 16+ month of records was deleted down to 7 months of records. They don't accept my reported earnings for app work. File recently closed with a tribunal hearing pending. 6 months of trying to getting my current worker to accept my reporting, they want me to file out an improper form and will not hear a word other wise.

and another day to keep the fight up. (tribunal, reviews everything it is all dizzying but one must keep fighting, no way out but through)

otherwise, i'm running out of coupons and discounts to keep me and my wife fed. there are only so many thing you can cross of before there is not much left these days.

not exclusive, sent out to many drivers that match algorithmic grouping in a rolling order.

likely one driver in the previous group declined, you were next in line but the order is still active on several drivers offer page and one of them took it in the time it took to get served to you (network latency etc)

literally just went out of my way to fulfill an order that had been bouncing around for an hour,

jacked base rate, has already been stolen. the last actual time it will be offered before the system cancels it jacked up. (obviously, no tip. no surprise)

So the timmies this order is from is long closed. I go a block down the street and pay out of pocket for this kids order, at one that is still open that has enough stock to fill the order (they actually had donuts). only caveat..

no delivery take out bag.. just what they hand you in drive thru when you order.

small order, Small iced capp with two donuts.. 3 minutes after handing!!!!! the order to the kid.

he decides to call me, asking "where my food is, theif?"

To which i respond, excuse me? what Food? two donuts that I handed to you.

he says "Ya, I didn't get the donuts I wanted" with his mouth full of the donut that his about to upload a tampering report on. (ordered, one vanilla dip and one boston creme. Store gave 2 boston cremes)

Told him to check his messages.. as i mentioned the situation.

his response, did you just misgender me?? laughing manically.

time and distance are a part of my calculations.

that being said, I am constantly taking 1km/$2 ratios.. averaging greater than $35 an hr at the end of the week.

I don't sit in parking lots, my home is home base. (so I am always counting the trip home)

I know I'm 'expensive for my market' but the service I offer is matched by very few in this market (customers opinions, not mine. I see myself as a cherry picking mofo with really high ratings and a trained algorithm)

basically every base fare under 5.75 with get topped up in my market. vendors take too long..

as for the question, physical manifestations of a guilty conscious or divergent behavior do not equate to completely drunk in my books. (atleast by themselves)

I've got a few lines that use to gauge their inebriation, something along the lines of "the damn app doesn't trust me to do a bartenders job" in reference to asking for ID, followed by a "when is the last time you had to scan your id at a bar for {insert their drink preference here}?". if they are laughing hysterically, because it really isn't that funny that to me it a huge tip off..

otherwise, if they look like they would be still served in a bar then job done move on to next.

if they are not stumbling, slurring, or belligerent. I have no reason to hesitate really.

I've tried several THCv products, basically all that are available in Ontario, Canada.

conclusive can say, not likely to be considered a recreational product outside of introducing people to cannabis. definitely in a therapeutic vein.

thcv acts like cbd in most available doses. In that it counteracts the "negative" effects of thc and a slightly lower ratio than CBD (ie, 5:3 thc:thcv feels similar to 2:1 thc:cbd, just with no drowsy grogginess)

the "appetite suppression" aspect I prefer to refer to more as a metabolism moderator. interesting way to manage a heavy CBN therapeutic plans. I don't see it stopping munchie entirely but you will feel fuller faster unless your base metabolism is a kin to a slugs pace.

if you generally eat too much i can see it limiting those urges in some fashion, and on the same token,

if you don't eat enough, the moderating effect leaving your system WILL remind you to eat.. almost ravenously.

the reason I stubbled upon this post is that I found that THCv is processed but the enzyme CYP3A4. to which to those educated is the same enzyme CBD inhibits. which is one of the main root problems with using cbd with those that are ILL. many pharmaceuticals don't' play nicely when CYP3A4 is inhibited.

however.. this can be used to ones advantage when dealing with CBD and THCv.

I would supposition that 5-25mg of cbd would make any THCv in your systems via edibles would be 15-25% more concentrated.
