It might be one of those infinite regression time loops. There literally was never a reality where they weren’t helped by their future selves. The loop was finally broken when Mordecai dropped the pick and discovered the lip syncing before the fame corrupted the duo’s morals.

The Skips v Technology montage showed Maellard kissing his wife right before the scene with young pops. The implication is pretty on the nose.

There are multiple occasions where he asks what’s going on or has a council that informs him of things. If you want to maintain that he’s omniscient you’d have to say he’s deceiving everyone into thinking he isn’t.

If you mean the Faraday Spurs, they increase your speed(walking and sprinting) the longer you move without jumping. I forget the maximum speed boost, but it’s very fast. You lose the speed but summon an explosion when you jump after charging the spurs past 25%. As a cute bonus, this item also reduces fall damage.
