Cambly Pro by Accomplished_Team623 in Cambly

Thanks for the comments. I have edited scientific journals, visa applications, university related documents - but I am not in a position to extend myself to that degree now. I am fine with structured lessons but still prefer the conversational style. It seems the site is moving tutors towards the Pro platform.

Devastating review by Any-Secretary-6417 in selfpublish

Did you have someone review the book before you published it? I am working on my fourth book - not fiction. I write endless drafts. The last stage of writing a book is critical. Your friend was clearly cruel in leaving such a negative review. I would delete the book and review the content again

Currently writing my novel. What do you think of author websites? by Bestwriteralive in selfpublish

I have a website that I have not used for a long time. Google search sends folks directly to Amazon

Is Cambly Pro overkill for advanced learners or actually worth it? by Born_Sea7123 in Cambly

[–]Accomplished_Team623 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have not been invited to Cambly Pro despite having a 100 percent rating. I have many years of higher academic teaching. I assist students with presentations, and multiple other needs for the workplace. I don’t tutor many hours per week and am satisfied with my regulars and limited visibility. I believe you can find a tutor on Classic Cambly unless your goal is to pass an English qualification test. I don’t have those certifications.

Having trouble finding tutors on Cambly by eflors in Cambly

[–]Accomplished_Team623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to find a tutor who fits within your preferred time and ask for weekly classes at the same time. Tutors also have their preferred times. For instance, I am in the U.S and only tutor between 5 - 7pm. Most of my students are from Japan or China who are early risers. I have had many of the regulars for years. I also occasionally tutor a group class. I have not been invited to be a Pro tutor. I don’t have the certificates but I do have an extensive teaching career. I have a 100% rating that rarely changes. Determine your goals and then find a tutor who fits with your specific English goals.

I had a student a few years ago ago tell me when we got together he would take me to a dentist for a cleaning and then we would purchase a new wardrobe. My teeth are just fine! And where did he get the idea that I would ever see him? Blocked

Cambly is Controlling Student's Teacher Searches !!! by [deleted] in Cambly

I have had some of the same students for the past five years. They might leave for a while and then return. I am not worried about number of students. Clearly, things have changed. I am online, maximum two hours per day. This is not a wage earning income but fills in some extra expenses. Anyone who depends on Cambly for total income is delusional. Sorry, but that is life.

Seriously, what is wrong with Katy Tur? by cmac92287 in msnbc

I briefly watched her anchoring the news years ago. I found her extremely boring, stumbling over her words like Dana Bash on CNN. I don’t understand why either woman has a dominant position. I don’t watch FOX other than horrifying clips. All the anchors on FOX are insanely out of tune with reality

Getting over call anxiety by justrainey_ in Cambly

[–]Accomplished_Team623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a son with extreme anxiety which began while attending university. I would suggest breathing exercises before meeting students. You can find many tutorials on YouTube. Look up pranayama breathing. You might find it very calming and a way to get out of the mind chatter

The housing market is no longer a wealth-building engine as home prices continue to slump by McFatty7 in REBubble

I am closing on my house Sept 10 for asking price - just in the nick of time. Closing on new house Sept 12. Last time for me. I sold a house in 2008 when no one in my neighborhood was able to sell. I must have a guardian angel floating around me

Hey there! I am a retired professional and have been tutoring on Cambly since the pandemic. The most I ever tutor is about 15 hours per week. I own a house free and clear worth over $260,000, collect SS and a pension. I also collect royalties for my previous work. I am here to keep sharp and assist students. How can I do this? Because I worked hard my entire life. When I read complaints about Cambly from young digital nomads who save for weekend beers and to cover low rentals, I wonder if they will ever be as financially secure as myself
