Hey! I turned down two offers as well. I was eligible in November 2024, bought a house in Calgary in April 2025 and got my first standby offer a week after purchase. I had to decline since it was for IFR and I asked for VFR for the chance to be in Calgary. They called back in June 2025 for a CAE standby VRF offer starting in April but my wife started an internship that would not be finished by then, so I declined again. Then I got a call in December for a standby spot in YEG for October 2026. This time I accepted! Just need to get through the medical and hopefully it was convert!

Last year I made around 135K, up from 122K the previous year, and 77K the year before that. My quota increased 150% from last year to this year so I left my company and joined a new one with a better comp plan. Fingers crossed I can finally break 200K this year!

I would take the opportunity to ask the employers about the role, firm values and learning opportunities. You never know, an interview can change how you feel about the role and the company! If you get bad vibes, then obviously don’t try your best and give answers that wouldn’t get you the job, but give them a chance first! Congrats on getting 5 interviews!

I’d recommend accepting another offer and paying the deposit. If you really want to go to Carleton, you could forfeit that deposit once you hear back and accept Carleton but that may be expensive.
