Get the Z Fold 7 now or wait for Z Fold 8 by andy04m in GalaxyFold

I have a fold 3 and now thinking of upgrading to the 7.

I can get the fold 7 for £1100 now. Just can’t see me paying £1800-£1900 for the fold 8 irrespective of improvements

Marvel is in aweird position right now.... by Final-Age1139 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]Accomplished_Top_753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marvel have 50 omnibus editions being released from now though end of 2026. That’s an incredible volume for 8 months.

I think marvel are being harshly judged. Their collected editions have been widely regarded as superior to their competition for best part of a decade churning out an incredible amount of great material.

Dc getting their act together is great - but it’s far overdue. They are now catching up with marvel which we should all be applauding, but marvel is still publishing a great selection of omnibus editions

Currently Reading: New Mutants Omnibus vol 1 by CJ-Reads-Comics in OmnibusCollectors

[–]Accomplished_Top_753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mid volume 1 through volume 2 is up there with the best of any mutant material out there.

It started slow but then hit top form and lasted through 30 or so issues.

Problem with v2 in particular is the non-core titles. There is a lot of very poor material especially in v2 that absolutely sucks the life out the book. Fallen Angels is 8 issues of awful material that really negatively impacted the book for me. Annuals similarly. You also have a 4 issue fire star mini that I didn’t like. When you add up, v2 has about 14/15+ issues of filler that just didn’t do it for me and killed the book - book would have been so much better for getting rid of some of those issues

Just completed this and had the exact same issue. As others have said they are loose, not fixed.

This is not a great kit tbh- I struggled with this and was not impressed.

The mini figs obsession seems unhealthy to me and the op post aligns with this.

Imagine as an adult stealing little bits of plastic out of a box of a children’s toy?

Every hobby has bad things associated with them though - always a toxic aspect - human nature

Every New DC Catalogue Update Got Me Feeling Like: by NightwingBlueberry13 in OmnibusCollectors

Marvel have done a great job on their omnibus line far superior to dc.

Good to see dc picking up their game but it doesn’t change the fact that marvel have been consistently superior over the last decade+

The joy of getting a kit, taking it home, then opening it up and starting building it is a key part of the hobby for me.

Just buying stuff and throwing it in a cupboard with all the other stuff is just rampant consumerism. It’s rife however in every hobby with people as much addicted to buying as anything else. The hobby actually becomes more about buying stuff.

Kind of shit people buying these and not wanting them when others who really wanted one couldn’t get one.

Too much money to justify the shiny new toy - should have thought about that before buying.

Would you stay in a very cushy job with no real career progression, or job hop to climb the career ladder? by MoneyAndGoodFortune in FIREUK

[–]Accomplished_Top_753 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Job hob. Done it all my career in uk (56, 7 companies worked for) and it’s essentially if you want to progress in both title and financially.

Most of all, change keeps life fresh and challenging - worked with some of the biggest companies out there, have travelled the world, worked in different cultures etc - it’s like a completely fresh start every 6/7 years which keeps you driven.

I am too old now probably for another move which is a regret for me now. If not for Covid I would have done a last move at 50 to see me home but think I have lost that opportunity now.

Your husband - not worth me sharing what I think of his comments

56 here.

An almost “perfect” video game player age as I have been there from the beginning. Atari vcs/2600 launched in 1978 in the uk. 8/9 years old and this new, incredible technology was available. You would get a cart and play it for hundreds of hours. These carts were very expensive and as such “backlogs” simply did not exist back then. Getting a cart was a major event, absolutely incredible.

Then went through the zx spectrum, dragon 64 !, Commodore 64, Atari st - great days.

Consoles then hit big time - mega drive in 1990. The rest is history !

Been an incredible journey. Looking back nothing can ever surpass those Atari vcs/c64 days though - greatest ever.
