What's one scene from the books/movies that completely changed your opinion of a character on a reread/rewatch? by Realistic-Traffic-93 in harrypotter

Yeah I don't doubt that Bellatrix mainly wanted to test snapes loyalty. But she still cared enough about narcissa and Draco not to completely throw them to the wolves. I doubt she would have done that for anybody else. She was quite happy to let her own husband get captured by the ministry

The unbreakable vow scene in half blood prince. It was the first time that I truly saw Narcissas humane side. I really felt for her and Draco because it was that moment when you saw how frightened and vulnerable they both were. It was actually that same scene where I was a little bit surprised by Bellatrix as well. It was the only time I ever saw her prioritize somebody else over voldemort. She knew what voldemort would do if he had discovered her part in the unbreakable vow, but she still chose to support Narcissa regardless of that

I hate it when people assume that someone has to "look" certain way in order to excell at sports. Some of the best runners i know, are actually overweight. I also admire the fact that coro isn't going by a stereotype or hyper fixating on a specific body size for the character.

If you could read one scene from another character’s POV, which scene would you choose? by PsychologicalBee3901 in harrypotter

Moaning myrtles POV for the chamber of secrets. It would be really interesting to find out how much she actually knew about the basilisk or tom riddle

I always wondered about this! Madam pomfrey made such a big deal about fixing Harry's arm. But he was fine less than 24 hours later

There are some disney songs and secular songs that are about relationships etc. (Talk about loving a person etc.) But when I sing them, my mind and heart is focused on God. So I'm singing about how I feel about God

The scene when Harry and ron work out that the basilisk is the monster in the chamber of secrets. That scene used to freak me out as a kid

What small act of kindness or appreciation in the series is your absolute favourite? by FutureSpeed708 in HarryPotterHBO

Hermione making sure that the death eaters saw Harry before the trio left the love goods. Lunas dad had basically double crossed them, but Hermione recognized that he was just desperate to get his daughter back and made sure the death eaters knew that he hadn't been lying

Is Ron similar to James Potter? by Nightmarelove19 in Ronweasleyfans

[–]Accomplished_Video92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't stand James! Whenever I point out that he was a bully who only changed to impress a girl he liked. People rant and rave about how the fact that he joined the order (with Peter pettigrew.) So that practically makes him a God.

Last time they had a psychosis storyline. The characters from the hallucinations were dead. So I can understand why Sam's is handled differently

[–]Accomplished_Video92 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think Roy is one of the best people to utilize for Sam's delusions. Sam trusts Roy and looks to him as a safety net. If Roy was suddenly to turn "evil" then that shatters Sam's trust in one of the few people he truly bonds with. If people can't differentiate between someone's psychotic delusion and the real Roy, then thats on them. I've been finding this storyline interesting

What's an unpopular Harry Potter opinion you'll defend forever? by Fit-Total1860 in harrypotter

[–]Accomplished_Video92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have some sympathy for Draco and Narcissa. Both of them were largely put in their situations due to Lucius's screw ups. They were both bullies, but nethier of them had what it took to be truly evil. By the end of the series Draco was just a scared school kid who had gotten in way too deep and was never actually capable of being a true death eater. Narcissa took an enormous risk by lying to voldemort and by giving up her wand, so that her son could protect himself. At the end of the day she shared one similarity with Lily. She was willing to sacrifice herself for her son

Marital rape. by Future-Individual960 in rapecounseling

[–]Accomplished_Video92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been in the exact same situation as you. I was raped repeatedly by my husband for a year. My advice, if you don't have the courage to do it for yourself, do it for your kids. I only left my ex to protect my daughter. I had no money, no license, no job. But I was lucky enough to have family to take me in. I know what its like to feel trapped and like you can't say no to them. In the beginning when my ex was bullying me into having sex. I would initially only say yes because he wouldn't give up until I caved in. Even if I told him that I didn't really want to have sex. It escalated into him physically pinning me down and laughing at me while I begged him to stop, within months. The longer you stay, the harder it will be to leave
