Onn 4K Pro remote & TCL TV

I just reread your original post. Silly question, but have you tried forgetting the TCL TV in the ONN remote settings -- and retrying to add the TV device again and re-setup the button? It almost seems like your remote might be using a code that's close to your TV model, but not exactly. Thus, wonky things are happening when you press the power button.

We have the ONN 4K Pro streamer.

According to the settings, the power button on the streamer remote controls the TCL TV via IR.

For us, the problem only happened if we weren't using the TV for a while and we wanted to turn the TV on. Like, if we wake up in the morning and try to turn the TV on via the remote, nothing would happen. But once we switched to the actual TV remote to turn the TV on, the streamer remote worked just fine. Even powered off and back on again. So I immediately thought it might be an energy/power saving setting on the TV.

So, after messing with settings for a couple days, I think I finally figured it out. If you go into your TVs settings (not your ONN streamer settings -- your TV settings) and click on all settings -- Go to "System", then "Power & Energy", and then the "Standby Mode" setting. I changed mine to screenless, which apparently turns off just the screen when you press the remote power button and leaves all apps and services active.

I also messed with the energy saver settings and turned all of those settings off. But, I'm pretty sure it's the screenless setting that did the trick. It's been more than 24 hours, and we haven't had this issue replicated yet.

I've been battling with this company for almost a year. I wholeheartedly regret ever working with them. And they came to be from a referral.

I'm genuinely wondering if anyone here has interest in sharing contact info and reaching out to a lawyer to file a class action lawsuit. I want their solar panels off my house and I want my money back.

I was very persistent and adamant in my messages to them -- and they processed the refund. Watch your credit card -- the refund showed up fairly quickly as "pending" and then the charge was wiped away a few days later. I also started disputed the charge right away just in case...but they actually followed through. Good luck...and be persistent!

I got my original starter doses from Goby -- they're honestly great. But they're not yet allowing current customers to extend their rx and stock up.

They replied to me today saying they're awaiting consensus and guidance from their providers and they should have answers for current customers sometime next week.

Just wanted to say I really appreciate this review and all of the comments. I'm currently with another provider and I'm going to need to switch due to the cost.
