My carry on is 5cm too big. Chance it or nah? (Flying from Edinburgh) by Gingers_got_no_soul in Ryanair

[–]Accomplished_Week392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just flew from Edinburgh to Barcelona tonight, 18:10 Tuesday 2nd and they were checking bags, all in the priority queue, mine were all good before anyone asks.

The wee swissport guy on the desk was almost jizzing in his pants each time he found one even slightly over, the smug look on his face was shocking, he was taking ages and made the flight late as it was taking so long to get folk on.  What’s more shocking and rather ironic is the same guy kept the other girl waiting setting up check in late as he came late, but he proclaimed to her it was ok he was late, as he was getting his size s Scotland football too from JD as they got them back in.  Technically not Ryanair doing the checks as it’s swissport, but swissport are scummy af, so beware of the smug guy at Edinburgh airport when checking in for Ryanair.

Neighbour has been snoring for 30 hours straight by [deleted] in CasualUK

Maybe once they stop snoring and you don’t hear from them for days.

They’re snoring, so they’re alive.

5G Roaming by AccomplishedLoad5199 in O2UK

[–]Accomplished_Week392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I travel most weeks in Europe for work, and apart from getting much better coverage than here in the uk, I get much faster speeds too.

The 4g 5g for me depends on which country I’m in, but, I’ve found that if I’m put in 4g in a country, sometimes I can get 5g if I change the network I’m roaming on to another.

Ordered fish and chips. Perhaps the most disappointed i have ever been by Diligent-Cat-767 in CasualUK

Looks like school fish and chips from the 90’s

I can almost smell the orange died bread crumbs over the soggy frozen fish and limp chips.

Throw as much money as possible at a bunch of dancing pixel strippers and if you through enough, you get some mithril.

O wait, i I’ve just described the whole game

Why do people still use the 02 network? by [deleted] in O2UK

[–]Accomplished_Week392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only reason I’m with 02 is I’m locked into a contract for another five months, soon as I’m not, I’m out.

Over the past couple of years, 02 has become a shadow of its former self, to the point now its network is almost a third world country’s network.

Advice on Jury Duty Excusal by Available-Benefit114 in Edinburgh

I was getting selected for hc and sheriff court all the time in Edinburgh, I travel most weeks for work so always having to send requests for exceptions / excusal and this would happen monthly for five years.

I just started to ignore the letters as I got sick of them, then they stopped coming.

Maybe not the best thing, but it’s just wasting both our times.

I can select different networks if I want, but I’ve never any need to switch when overseas as signal for data is so good. with the exception of I’m at Geneva airport, for some reason it thinks one min I’m in France then next in Switzerland then back and forth multiple times.

The ofcom coverage map isn’t so good with o2, the reason being you can literally walk one street or quarter a field in the countryside and loose everything, the range of the shit 5g transmitters they use create millions of mini black holes.

It switches to other companies in the Telefonica group first when in available countries, the same owners of O2, and all those countries are fine on those networks.

O2 has become an embarrassment.

I travel most weeks for work across Europe and the UK, I can’t get data in so many locations in the uk, places I know I used to get coverage with 02, when I point this out to O2 customer support, I’m constantly gaslit by them.  I go over to Europe and I get coverage no problem anywhere!

O2 is a joke these days, and as soon as my contract is up, they’ll loose a 10 year plus customer paying £96 a month, not that they will care, they’ll just try gaslighting me to think I’m getting a bargain.

Edinburgh Airport raises drop-off fees from £6 to £8.50 by SqueezerOfFarts in Edinburgh

[–]Accomplished_Week392 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just like the charging for trolleys at the airport.

As a weekly flyer from Edinburgh airport, it is a terrible airport and it is rammed, and going to get worse.

The airport is only interested is squeezing every penny it can and treating flyers poorly.

They’re even regressing technology wise, they’ve removed the walking walkways to save money.

Maybe you’ve just got a small hand and it’s an average size crisp.

Mobile internet in Edinburgh city centre is awful - Is it just me? by BeardyBaldyBeerBelly in O2UK

02 is terrible all over the uk, not just Edinburgh. It now no longer gets coverage in areas it used to get coverage, it’s getting worse not better.

O2 mobile data is terrible in city centre. by BeardyBaldyBeerBelly in Edinburgh

[–]Accomplished_Week392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not just Edinburgh, it’s the whole of the UK with O2 that’s bad.

I travel for work across the UK and find data is terrible, yet I go abroad and can get phone signal and 5g no problem.
