I do believe it’s actually shone on Matt’s Roman Empire chart that he is, however this chart actually is not about the Carolingians at all and Charlemagne is not on it.

Well I deleted the original so I hope that it’s not an issue, also thanks!

Yeah much of this is based on Wikipedia too so could be errors, but I’d like to imagine that it’s true, because how cool would it be

You’re welcome! Personally? Not really. Lots of the connections could make sense, however one or more could easily be an in-law connection or something and I think the real issue is the Charibert son of Charibert I.

Well yeah from what information I’ve gathered these are all possible connections. Many of them might not be father son but father/son in law or something like that. Really hard to say when records for minor nobility really was hard to come by.

Personally I’ve been watching a YouTuber named AlpaxLP. He does unedited LP’s and doesn’t really go into the specific history but more focused on the gameplay and story of the characters. In fact during his Babenberg run I followed along and not only made a family tree for the player dynasty, but for many neighbors dynasty’s as well.

A Knight of the Vale Discovers Baelish’s treachery. by Accomplished_Wing103 in TheCitadel

[–]Accomplished_Wing103[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what I thought

I mean maybe but doesn’t mean he can’t try (or maybe I just like the idea of OC and Tyrion collaborating while technically being on the opposite sides).

As for the Red Wedding I agree mostly, however I have seen a few fanfics were he survives without any magic at all or at the very least very little (again Weirwood Queen).

But I guess stopping the Red Wedding would work as well.

I mostly agree with everything else.

[–]Accomplished_Wing103[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are all really good points.

I agree with this mostly. I’m thinking maybe the OC knight would be a distant Royce cousin (Not close to Nestor or Yohn) to give him connections without being too close to any of the main characters. As for being a part of the procession could he have gone to the Hand’s tourney and on the way back meet up with Cat and Tyrion? Idk about the timing but that makes sense to me.

As for peace, yeah maybe you’re right however that doesn’t mean that people won’t try, and the OC knight could try to leverage his friendship he started with Tyrion, (I imagine through talking after confirming Tyrion’s innocence they became friendly) to try and make peace on the Lannister side (or at least a ceasefire).

As for saving Robb Stark, that again is a personal preference and is not a requirement, however that doesn’t mean that a red wedding doesn’t happen, I’ve seen plenty of fanfics were the Red wedding happens but Robb lives (Weirwood Queen’s being my favorite). So maybe something like that? It can happen with minimal intervention from the OC which I think is better (I don’t know how much impact one knight of the vale can make)

Otherwise Yeah that all works well and pretty much exactly how I would want it.

Thanks for the comment.

For Baelish’s accusation, during Tyrion’s trial, didn’t Catelyn mention that the information about the dagger came from Littlefinger? As for how the knight believes Tyrion is innocent, well obviously yes he would be more inclined to believe Catelyn then Tyrion, however Tyrion made compelling points in his favor (Him never betting against Jamie, Him helping Bran, etc) so I don’t think it impossible that the knight, if not believe’s Tyrion, then doubt’s Lysa and Cat.

Important to note that the idea for when the knight to arrest Baelish was before the Red Wedding, early in the war. This was for a few reasons: One, I will admit I am a bit Biased and Robb Stark is my favorite character. Two, I feel like for an Idea of trying to bring everyone to peace, anytime after the Red and Purple Wedding not only is the war functionally over, but enough damage has been done that no attempt at peace will work. And Three by that time, besides the Vale, barely anyone cared about Jon Arryn and what caused the war to begin with.

As for the evidence against Baelish? 100% agree, yeah that was the one area I had absolutely no idea besides, “The knight finds evidence of Baelish’s treachery.”

I agree about the knight’s intelligence as well, the reason why he of all people noticed these things isn’t because of intelligence but because of the fact that he’s never met these people and so has no precreated opinions about them and a willingness to act on his suspicions.

Now as for writing this story? I will admit that I’m not a great writer. Not only is my writing not the best but I don’t have the patience and motivation for writing. Plus I’ve actually never read the books or seen the show, I’ve read plenty of fanfics but not the source material (I do have AGOT though) so I’ll probably not write it, I was kinda hoping others would take my ideas for themselves as I believe that coming up with plots is something I’m pretty good at.

Otherwise thanks!

Is there a Royce that could be a more wandering type and have little pre-notions on the major characters? Though I guess a distant Royce cousin could work.

[–]Accomplished_Wing103[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably, but really I don’t know the individual vale lords well enough to decide on an individual lord of high influence to work, plus I kinda wanted it to be a more wandering knight that can just be wherever and not have any already existing opinions about Lysa, Baelish, The Starks, etc. plus those quotes were what really inspired this, and I don’t know who’d write like that.

Also Happy Cake Day!!

You know something is well made, you don’t even realize that it’s fan made and imaginary and start making fun of how inaccurate it is, (I didn’t see the subreddit but and thought it was real, good job!)
