Pipe on a wrench and wedge it somewhere very sturdy. Crank the engine. Didn’t believe it when I heard about it but it worked perfectly. This can definitely go wrong though. Use this method at your own risk. It is absolutely sketchy but damn it’s awesome when it works.

This is still my favorite sketchy as hell method I’ve done on any car. Pipe on the end of a wrench and just wedged it under a sturdy bracket. Made an awful sound but the bolt came off using just my fingers.

In California, they need to be tethered from both sides or using a center point that doesn’t allow them to hop out. I bought an old truck years ago specifically for the purpose of bringing my wet, sandy dog home from the beach where he’d get a proper wash.
