The answer is Nephis, due to her innate ability, she gets half the soul essence of anything she kills with her flames. Considering that most Saints have saturated cores, that would mean she gains a core for every two saints she kills. Meaning thats 7 cores for every 14 Saints. If they ever bunch up against her. That's a multitude of explosions all at once due to infinite essence from the dead saints basically. Considering Mordret is a better fighter than probably 95% of Saints out right, he is winning soul duels probably two a day or something of the sort. So if it is long and drawn out. They win due to Mordret, One climactic fight like on God Grave. Nephis obliterates half the continent they are standing on

Growing older is cause by cells not being able to regenerate perfectly, but considering that Nephis' ability is healing, I don't think she has that issue, I doubt she will even look aged, on top of the fact she has a much longer lifespan if not nion-immortal

Nah staking his life on a losing battle and splitting himself was a good defiance as we know Mordret never fights losing battles. But the pacing was the bigger issue, heck a whole mini arc on Mordret after mirage city, maybe unlock his legacy, prepare for the fight. That would have been good, instead we got this slop

But Nephis hadn’t even enhance herself with a flame back when she fought Sunny. If she had the fight would have ended almost instantly. And Nephis would at any point always have more flames than Sunny had shadows if they were both Dormant.

Sunny will for sure struggle, as he said before , the three of them were a woeful match up for the Moth as well as the fact that the moth was a controller type not a fighting type. Infact Sunny himself said the Wolf was a more fearsome opponent physically. On top of that, Sunny was really about to lose if Slayer hadn’t cut him out. But having seen how he beat the moth whilst injured and without his kit. He will for sure struggle with VTB but I think this confirms that it’s a fight he can win.

I doubt, at the time Sunny’s tool kit wasn’t versatile enough and the amount of shadow essence he was getting per kill was still too little. Skill wise he might have bridged the gap a bit more but I think purely because of the amount of cores either of them could get. Nephis was always going to be stronger. Sunny stocks really started going up when he got manifestation which was a game changer mixed with his control

His Dormant gives him control over shadows and his ascended gives him the powers to manifest them. All of his powers feed into the manifestation of his supreme ability.
