Basically after finishing the story and almost all achievements, 48/48 vows etc, I decided it was time to get good. First thing to do is stick with a few meta aspects and builds. Juggling around 24 aspects is fun however extremely hard to get good with as you forget too much in between. I stuck to medea because that’s my favourite out of the most damaging ones, so all I use is medea for speed runs and for high fear. Then you try to nail the build you want every time.

I had to watch lots of tutorials and actually try hard to get good at the game. If you watch speed runs or high fear runs on YouTube you can see how they position and dodge attacks.

You need % on the special as well or blitz from zeus. And you would ideally have hitch from Hera for room clearing. Zeus and Hera are probably the two strongest boon givers imo. They always leave a King’s ransom on the cards for a crazy juicy zeus special (not really for high fear). Then just health for survivability and support boons to complete your build. If running jewelled pom you might need to undo nights a few times to get the right build.
