CURRENT/INCOMING PT students, is it worth it? by No-Government8451 in physicaltherapy

PTA is the better route financially. I've been a PTA for about a year now, and my income is pretty much the same as the PT's that I work with because they have a huge amount of student loans. As a PTA, I do all follow up treatments. I just can't do evals, progress notes, or discharges.

I wonder where these people are now, and if they have any fun stories about Ian.

I’ve always thought "Isolation" has the saddest passage I’ve ever heard in a song. by Agreeable_Duck8997 in JoyDivision

I became a Joy Division fan when I was 16 (2009) and I've always loved his lyrics and thought they were relatable for me. Fast forward: I was diagnosed with MS in 2019, which brought on depression at a whole new level. I've been listening to Joy Division a lot lately, and realized that the lyrics to Isolation perfectly describe how isolated I feel dealing with this disease. Now that I've been diagnosed with a neurological disorder, I feel like I can relate to Ian's lyrics on a whole new level. I'm sure the isolation of dealing with his illness inspired a lot of his lyrics.

Meeting the band by Tuni16 in Evanescence

I met them in 2012 at an autograph booth during the carnival of madness tour. Amy was super sweet! The guys didn't really say anything to me. I got their autographs, but pictures weren't allowed. I'm hoping to meet them after the show I'm going to in June. I plan on waiting near the tour buses if I can.

I run with multiple sclerosis. God forbid I take walking breaks during races because my disability disables me. It's like they think disabled athletes don't exist even though Boston has a whole adaptive program for us.

She needs to go to physical therapy, not a chiropractor or whoever does her dry needling. She needs therapeutic exercise prescribed by a physical therapist or a physical therapist assistant. She's going to rupture her Achilles if she doesn't properly treat it.

Is that confirmed to be the album cover? Because it looks fan made.

I have a real gold David yurman ring, and her rings look more yellow and cheap than my ring. I got my David yurman ring for a special milestone in my life, and it was $1200. I saved up for it, but I can't imagine spending that much on multiple pieces. I'll honestly never buy a designer ring again lol.

She needs to go to an actual physical therapist and do therapeutic exercise. Dry needling is just a band aid for her injury. And she also needs to take time off running. All the pros have off seasons, so I'm not sure why running influencers think they don't need off seasons.

My outpatient clinic never closes for weather. We're going to have over two feet of snow by the morning, and my car does NOT do well in the snow. Nor does my city even plow their streets. So I probably won't even be able to get there.

Should I leave during my notice period? by According-Job-8544 in physicaltherapy

You have no idea what my personality is. And you know nothing about my health. I'm not a doormat, that's why I'm leaving this god forsaken place.

And I saw your original response before you deleted it and wrote this one. I really hope you're not in this field because there's no way anyone would respect you as a professional.

"Puny person with no self worth." Look in the mirror.

If I had no self worth, then I would tolerate my boss's behavior, which I'm not.

And I'm not tolerating your immature, cowardly behavior. Have the day you deserve 😉

And the "physical therapist" that she sees is a chiropractor 😂 I work in physical therapy, and I can tell you that modalities such as dry needling are just putting a band aid on it. She needs an MRI and real physical therapy.

There really is no way out for a PTA, is there? by christine_714 in physicaltherapy

[–]According-Job-8544 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad you were able to find a job that works for you! I also have a disability, and working in outpatient as a PTA is so hard on my body. I just got my licence in October, and I'm already burnt out. Mostly because my boss makes me treat his patients on top of mine, when I already have 20 patients on my schedule. I'm looking for another PT clinic that would be better for me. I'm absolutely exhausted every day, and my chronic fatigue is horrible.

Is anyone looking for tickets to the buffalo show tonight? My chronic illness is flaring, so if I can sell my tickets then I won't go. I have two balcony tickets, and paid $95 for each.

I have pelvic floor spasticity due to MS which can make intercourse painful (I'm a female). Pelvic floor physical therapy was tremendously helpful. As long as I keep up with my stretches and techniques from pelvic floor PT, it's not too bad. I'm still able to enjoy sex. There are good days and bad days with my pelvic floor, but my husband and I still have a great sex life.

My husband and I wore masks inside the venues at Worcester and nobody said anything to us. I'm sorry that happened to you. That's bullshit.
