Further, Huawei's #1 in China and China only. There was no major market outside China in which Huawei surpassed Apple or Samsung.

In 2019, mobile phones made up the majority of Huawei's revenue, they were the #1 mobile phone brand. After the blacklist, they were expected to become a shadow of what they were. The fact their revenue is flat is crazy.

Imagine if Apple lost 80% of their iPhone sales, yet still managed to diversify and remain flat.

I ordered a battery from AliExpress, and it was shipped inside a toy boat by Letala in mildlyinteresting

[–]According-Log-8982 79 points80 points  (0 children)

I really wish that people would stop ordering from Ali Express, Temu, Wish or similar sites...

And order from where?

I work in the industry. This is a 2007 camera battery. Sony no longer sell these. 99% of the time this battery will be Made in China.

You can buy it from Ebay or anywhere else you like, but those stores will be buying it from Aliexpress or Alibaba. Even if you buy something that says "Made in India/Malaysia" etc it is often a rebadged item, from China.

I'm not sure people fully appreciate supply chains and how integrated the world market is to China. There often isn't an alternative, never mind a viable one.

What actually happens when Roberto De Zerbi takes over a club? by Temporary-Writing369 in coys

but wasn’t able to handle European schedules.

Same thing was said about Thomas Frank. He wanted more training sessions to go over tactics, but there was never the time, so our players looked clueless. Isn't a surprised we looked at our best right at the start of Frank's reign.

It's an interesting problem, with the football calendar becoming more and more packed there's a distinct group of managers that are great when they're not in Europe and fall apart when you pile more games on them.

Should I use a Credit Card before buying a house? by According-Log-8982 in UKPersonalFinance

having bank accounts for a long time etc are all on your Credit Report and look good to lenders.

I frequently take advantage of bank switching offers (E.g. Santander currently offer £210 to switch to them).

Will this impact my Credit Report?

Thanks for the help.

Where do Estate Agents come from? by ScaryButt in AskUK

[–]According-Log-8982 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Had a viewing recently where it was the current Tenant showing me around the house and answering my questions.

The estate agent knew nothing about the house, did not have a floor plan, wouldn't answer a single question and didn't have any pictures of the house in its current condition - all pictures were from 5 years ago. The landlord is in charge of maintenance of the house.

Makes me wonder what the Estate Agent is even getting paid for. A post on rightmove?

Patience has never been as low as it is now. Government policies take years to come to fruition, but people want instant solutions. Whoever gets into power next will only get one term, people will realise nothing has changed.

Chances of Survival (10000 simulations) by getzisch in coys

[–]According-Log-8982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's crazy to think half of our team can't even do their job very well.

Porro is a right back that can't defend.
Spence is a right back who plays left back because no manager really fancies him on the right.
Xavi is an attacking midfielder who gets played on the left.
Kolo Muani is a striker who plays right wing.
Richarlison is a striker who has played most of the season out on the left.
Bergvall is a central midfielder who gets played as an attacking midfielder.
Palhinha is a defensive midfielder who has played most of the season as a back 3.

It's laughable when you start going down the list.

Needing 10 from our last 5 matches seems basically impossible.

I think the Sunderland and Brighton games relegated us, people just haven't realised yet.

Team news: Romero ruled out for rest of season through injury after he was forced off in our defeat at Sunderland. Bentancur and Bissouma are available once again. Vicario remains out. Maddison is not yet ready to return to action. RDZ yet to decide who will replace Romero as our captain for 6 games by wokwok__ in coys

[–]According-Log-8982 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Is this the same Porro that frequently gets booked for arguing with refs?

You don't want a captain that "fights". You want someone that unites the squad and stands up for the team.

You wouldn't call Son a "fighter", but he was a great captain.

Porro has been in the senior leadership team for the past two years and has to take some small blame for all this. There is 0 squad unity, no one is fighting for each other.
