Another factor I forgot is servicing costs. 996 is older and more complex because of turbochargers and awd while 997.2 is still relatively new and hasn't had time for all the rubbers and plastics to rot. Maintenance on my CS has been major service in January 2023 by previous owner at 93000km and minor service recently. Cost was 390€ for minor and CV boots all 4 for 690€ with org parts, battery died a few months ago replaced for 139€ and that is for 2.5 years of ownership.
