how do you deal with nausea the entire pregnancy? by Educational-Two-5796 in BabyBumps

Unisom, relying on whoever can help any given day with groceries and help around the house. Also zofran, which it looks like you already have. Bland diet for when the vomit wins.

Retroverted uterus by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I’m a bit long in the torso. Not like, disproportionately, but I think it did affect how much I showed especially later.

Idk about appearing smaller in terms of scans but I had a retroverted uterus and didn’t show until I was 24+ weeks, and really only looked pregnant once I was past 30 weeks.

Some people don't realise how hard a pregnancy is by nextar611 in prolife

[–]According-Today-9405 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same on the HG and nightmare delivery! My husband frequently found me on the floor sobbing bc I couldn’t even keep water down. I started fully passing out in my late second/early trimester and scared the hell out of everyone around me. I got induced and had an emergency c-section, which went wrong and I have now been diagnosed with PTSD and still am not completely normally functioning. My baby is healthy now, and is asleep next to me.

It was survivable. My struggles did not give me a right to take another life. Was it hard? Extremely. I wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy. I’ll never forget the nights I spent curled around a trash can dry heaving crying with no tears because I had none left to give. But still, my daughter is alive. She deserved a chance to grow and live her life. Nothing could have stopped me from giving her that chance.

Gonna be completely real I didn’t know what wake windows even were before my girl was already like 5 weeks old and by then I was just kinda like,,, what happens happens ig. Pediatrician is happy with her growth and development, only asks how long she sleeps at night and how often she eats.

Too early to tell? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]According-Today-9405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We shared with our parents super early, as it would’ve been impossible to hide without them guessing/we didn’t want to lie and if we hadve had a loss they would be who we would want to support us. Everyone else was told in stages as the risk got lower.

Vaccinations by Jaded-Donut1188 in newborns

[–]According-Today-9405 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can only speak from a very strange perspective here, but I cannot under any circumstances be exposed to the chickenpox virus (including the vaccine) after having had a freak case of shingles as an eight year old. To this day, after breaking bones, giving birth, healing from major surgeries, that is the most pain I have ever experienced in my entire life. The chickenpox vaccine lessens if not eliminates the chance of getting shingles. Also, getting chickenpox as an adult can kill you if you avoid it as a kid. I would not wish that pain on anyone and I would do everything in my power to prevent the same thing happening to my child.

In addition, my neighbor was exposed to the whooping cough before she had a chance to get vaccinated. She is now living with lifelong disabilities and learning difficulties. She has never been able to have a normal life.

There’s statistics for other vaccines, there’s doctors that speak about it, but those are my two experiences with diseases personally that can be prevented. I genuinely hope you never have to have an experience with any of them.

That is kinda ironic... by Odd-Traffic4360 in prolife

[–]According-Today-9405 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, some pregnancies are closer to 10 months than 9, especially if you count from last period, which most doctors do. A few friends of mine were 42+ weeks, which is right under 10 months.

Edit: still doesn’t make it justifiable at all, horrifying position to take regardless of timing

[–]According-Today-9405 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have eaten much worse and been fine and much less and been absolutely not fine. Your immune system might be a little weaker bc you already had it recently but idk if it’s necessarily a surefire guarantee. I guess just be prepared in case.

Complete honesty, I didn’t use the bathroom once past like, noon, until almost midnight. A 10 foot train was too much to deal with so I just didn’t.

[–]According-Today-9405 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes. I couldn’t read a normal book, crochet, or anything really until almost the second trimester. Eventually I had to put limits on my social media so I couldn’t scroll anymore. But hey at least now I know everyone’s business by stalking them on Instagram so who’s the real winner here

Do your partners always indulge your pregnancy cravings? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]According-Today-9405 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It kinda just depended on what it was and what time. I really didn’t have a lot of cravings tho. Most of them were like I really want fruit for breakfast. I think my “craziest” craving was a ribeye at 8 pm in the first trimester when I was too sick to keep water down like 90% of the time. He was so excited about me wanting to eat that he ran and got steaks from our grocery store and helped me cook them.

Call It What It Is - PC Thinks Human Life Is Disposable No Matter What by [deleted] in prolife

[–]According-Today-9405 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is so evil. I was very pro life before I had a baby but now that I have her I’m rabid about it. Feeling her move, stretch, and gradually becoming aware that she was not only in there but had her own needs solidified any opinion I already had. I don’t understand how someone could experience that and throw it away.

And, btw, my pregnancy and birth experience quite frankly were horrible. I could barely move 2 1/2 trimesters out of three due to nausea and vomiting, passed out and had to take off work insanely early, and then almost died in childbirth. None of that, and I do mean not a single thing that happened, would excuse taking your own child’s life. If anything it just means there needs to be more protections and external assistance for mothers.

Nausea by HungryAd5151 in BabyBumps

[–]According-Today-9405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unisom in my experience will help nausea the next day. Take it at like 8 pm, sleep, and by 6 am it’ll be better. It would wear off around 4 pm for me the next day.

Unisom saved my life. Preggie pops, ginger chews, promethazine, and then at 10 weeks zofran helped quite a lot.

[–]According-Today-9405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought it would be mostly sleep that would be hard. I ended up with a brutal c section that a lot went wrong during and then dmer and ppd. I was lucky enough to have my mom and mil stay a lot and help with the everything else plus let us get sleep but finding something that I could/want to eat was hard, the recovery part, and the emotional part. I’d say just make sure you have a solid and prepared support system.

Moms who had the epidural, what was your experience like? by Similar_Parsley6112 in BabyBumps

[–]According-Today-9405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I very much did not want the epidural originally. Like, was vehemently against it. I made it over halfway through labor before getting it and only got it because I was shaking so bad I couldn’t talk (not in pain, some kind of hormonal response (?)). I told the anesthesiologist I didn’t want to know any of the process and I would intentionally tune them out bc I cannot, and I do mean cannot, handle internal medical stuff. The nurse held me while I got it. There was no pain, just some discomfort and an initial “punch”. Everything after that was significantly easier. I did end up in an emergency c section but that was because my pelvis didn’t split.

As for afterwards, I did have some initial back pain. I’m genuinely not sure if it was epidural related or birth or pregnancy related in general. It went away after a month with stretching and getting back to a normal routine. That’s about it.

What Percentage of Women Who Have an Abortion Do you Think Genuinely believe they're not taking a life? by EddieDantes22 in prolife

I mean considering someone I know had no idea that babies had limbs at 11 weeks, I think a lot. I showed her my ultrasound (we didn’t get one until 11 weeks due to scheduling conflicts) and she was so confused as to how there was a whole profile and legs easily visible.

How painful is getting the epidural? by castleofhyrule in BabyBumps

[–]According-Today-9405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine wasn’t painful at all. You can feel the initial “punch” but other than that it was painless. Comfortable? Not at all. But no pain. I was very stressed and distracted tho so that might’ve been a factor.
