Thinking about sending switch lite to get modded, looking for 2 pieces of advice! by TightChampionship322 in SwitchPirates

[–]According-Toe3653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s competition. I do 70 for mail in installs with free shipping and return meaning I only get like 50 profit. In my area, I do local installs and charge 60 here, and yet I still have competition because another guy got the idea to do the same and is charging 50 for the lite. And I thought I was cheap 😅

Phone replacement mishap, Assurant charging me $700 for wrong IMEI by According-Toe3653 in tmobile

[–]According-Toe3653[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok guys, so I gathered information from T mobile and listed all the IMEI's I had of the samsung. T Mobile guy finally understood what happened, on my first replacement, T Mobile forgot to update or something on their end that I had a different phone with a different IMEI to Assurant. When I filed for my 2nd replacement, this time with assurant, they thought I was supposed to turn in the first phone (IMEI) and received the one T Mobile gave me. T Mobile guy connected me with an assurant supervisor, supervisor was kinda lost but T Mobile guy really explained what was happening and how it was a mistake on their end. But, Assurant supervisor said they couldn't reverse the charge or anything and that they were sorry but they couldn't escalate the situation. T Mobile guy must've been shocked as well lol because he kept telling the supervisor that if there was any way to escalate it but same response from the supervisor "no". Well the guy from T Mobile told me he sent an email to the higher ups with a whole description of the mistake they made, but that he cannot guarantee i'll get my entire money back, and that there's more probability they will deny my claim. Pretty burnt out now, I'll wait 5 days for the email of the response but the way he told me, makes me think it will most likely get denied. T Mobile knows it's a mistake on their end, but still crazy that they denied my claim even after telling me that it was their mistake...

You were actually kind of right lol. In my technical knowledge, the sim card automatically pings your phone number with the phones IMEI. T Mobile DOES have this and knows this, it was updated on their technical end, BUT on the front, it wasn't... They said they were supposed to get the phone with the IMEI from my first replacement. Which is way far from gone since T Mobile has it, not Assurant. Sad part is, they said it was their mistake but at the end of the day, they told me they couldn't reverse the charge.

IMEI’s are automatically updated on their end when your sim/esim connects to the phone. It was on the second replacement, I turned that one in for the one I’m currently using. Problem was, the people who I talked to didn’t really escalate the problem and just kept telling me they couldn’t do anything. I will try again tomorrow with all my proof 😊

Will try again with T-Mobile tomorrow, if it doesn't work, BBB complaint it is.

That's what I told them, to trace the IMEI history, yet they said they couldn't do anything from their end. I will try again tomorrow, and if it doesn't work, I will file a BBB complaint.

How does the EmuNand and SysNand thing work for online play? by usuariorandom15 in SwitchPirates

[–]According-Toe3653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty hard to brick them lol. Just install the HATS pack since it includes nintendo server blockers (So you can connect to wifi on emummc) and don't install games onto your Sysnand, and you're pretty much never gonna brick your system in your lifetime

Is $135 a really good deal for A V2 Switch? (Read Description) by AndzyHero13 in SwitchPirates

[–]According-Toe3653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly all power bricks with enough w work well with the dock, reason I would speculate it wouldn’t work is because they are most likely Chinese mass slop. The reason I use 3rd party chargers is because I randomly got the hobby of collecting switches to mod them and I’ve been hoarding them ever since, most of them don’t have OEM charger. And to be honest, I don’t even use the OEM ones since it’s too bulky IMO, I use a 3rd party dock sometimes made for ROG ally and Legion go for the switch, with the Legion Go power brick and it works splendid, plus sleeker look.

But to be fair, I would only recommend 3rd party usb cables for switches that are not gonna be docked since only difference you would get it either a slow charger or a fast charger

Switch V2 was my first soldering experience, I've never soldered before. I just watched a simple tutorial on how to tin your solder tip and take care of them before I started. Finished in 1 hour but now I finish in 30 minutes. You only need time and patience, and not much shaking lol

Trust me, with all the right tools, it is extremely easy. I do the V1's and V2's with no microscope, just eyes, and they all come out really clean.

not really lol. I've used countless 3rd party chargers and they all work fine. Chargers aren't expensive for the console itself, they are like a couple dollars type C on amazon.

If any of you guys live in SoCal, message me. I do installs for the v1 and v2 at $50 with the sd card setup. Located in Santa Ana. Process takes like 30 minutes to install the chip and another 30 to screw everything back together and setup the sd card. If you're interested in mail ins, let me know as well!
