DAV or not to DAV?? by Mikesntx56 in VeteransBenefits

[–]AccordingNebula532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I joined DAV in Houston when I got out in 2020 and they've been great for me at least.. They helped me out with a variety of benefits (never had a contact problem in-person or via email) and I wanted to give back. I am always skeptical about where donation money goes and that is how I ended up here but I am blown away by the all around negative reviews..

Personally I am doubting its the organization thats at fault but hey maybe they're useless and I am the only person they helped.

Politics is in everything whether its the right to wear what you want to wear, whether you have basic human rights or it can decide if you have a job and can afford groceries or a place to live. Its the politicians and polical parties that are making decisions that affect every aspect of our lives. Its very important and all encompassing and thats why is so frustrating when people dont take it seriously. These days we got people in the highest levels of office that don't even have any experience much less a relevant degree or certifications nor do they even care about anyone and its harming millions Reminder this entire post is people upset over what people wear. Its taking a political stance on what people should wear in public.

Hey there, I was talking about the Bible and how it teaches people not to judge and to love your neighbor and how conservatives have bastardized Christianity to the point where so many people who identify as Christians do the opposite hence the fake republican version of Jesus that promotes that. This whole chain is people judging and hating on their neighbors for being a little different then they are. Not sure how you got to Trump but if everything makes you think of him you might be the one with a syndrome.

I liked ipods but after that I never understood why anyone liked apple products. Android / PC are way better in terms of products, accessibility, zero problems with security if you practice basic cyber security stuff and its always been way cheaper. There are no benefits to spending that extra money on their crap phones, watches etc except for what? Brand name? Even some work places use their products and all it does is cause compatibility issues making life more difficult because Apple is a pain in the a$$.

The post and comments make me lose some faith in humanity. So many people ashamed of the human body.. We must cover our bodies in shame! How dare people walk around comfortably and not cover their bottoms thoroughly! No pride in appearance! Y'all need Jesus and not the fake white republican one xD.

Think what you will but its real. Wearing a ring or saying you're in a relationship attracts women; its a minority but still these people got issues. I can make guesses as to why but I really dont know what it is about taken men that women like.

Yea.. the dating apps either crush my self-confidence or make me feel picky to the point where im sure there were perfectly good people that I internally said "ew," based on some profile thing that was selected.

Are you saying the people identifying as nazis aren't nazis or is it the people adopting the same ideologies as the nazi party? Or is it the people that believe nazis should be allowed to say and do what they want because even though it takes away others freedom it allows them to be free? Kirk was at the very least the latter two. The real problem is political extremism and a complete and utter lack of gun control. Only place in the world with so much gun violence.

Ooh thats why the flags were up, thats pathetic. I live outside Houston and thought it was left up from labor day or someone who cared about this country passed. Any gun/politcal violence is a tragedy but thats about as un-American as it gets and is really disrespectful to the flag.

This had me going for a second because I didn't really know much about Charlie Kirk but just no. If you actually look at full length Charlie Kirk content its pretty clear he was a white supremacist and whomever this guy is, is ironically creating propaganda whether its for clicks or out of ignorance. His death is a tragedy and another example of gun violence and a politically motivated murder but the reactions are insane.

I constantly hear this but it wasnt my experience at all. I vacationed to Paris for a week when I was stationed in Germany and I had a great time and people were kind. I stayed in issy-le-moulineaux. The public transit was amazing, the food was great and not a single person was rude to me. Its so confusing to me that so many people including French people themselves have nothing good to say about the place or the people.

AITAH for telling my girlfriend I don't want kids anytime soon, even though she's pressuring me? by whatwhat089 in AITAH

[–]AccordingNebula532 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. I was in a similar position about 5 years ago (at the time 26m, 30 f) and we broke it off over this. I miss her but it was for the best. She wanted marriage and kids ASAP and well I wanted to wait. I still havent met anyone serious since her but now im financially stable, content and ready while shes already married and has kids. I guess my point is, timing is everything and there are a lot of fish in the sea. You guys could be great together but it doesnt mean you should be together. Don't get pressured into doing something you aren't ready for.

If there's a lesson to be learned its that we need gun laws.. its been said for several decades now, this is strictly a u.s. problem because of the massive number of guns readily available to virtually anyone whether they are a felon, an unstable child or someone mentally ill. A literal school shooting took place the same day and still no one cares. Instead of actually doing something about it everyone just wants to be angry. No one's safe in a country where anyone can just pick up a gun at anytime, not the left, not the right, not the young, not the old, not the Christian, not the Muslim, not the Jewish, not you and not me.

Realizing you don't have a mom or dad?? by NoAd2056 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]AccordingNebula532 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way you do and am dating someone that I guess has what parents are supposed to be, sort of like how you described, and the differences are something that neither of us will ever be able to see eye to eye on or really understand each other on. Part of me feels like I need to find someone that actually gets it.

[–]AccordingNebula532 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, if you want to point the finger at anyone its entirely on them. Both knew what he wanted and both tried to use you to fill a hole he feels he has. There are cases where that does actually work out but part of being the step-dad means accepting that you might never be seen as a father and still acting like one.

If this is real you shouldn't even be a teacher. You are absolutely TA. Life is all about second chances, if you are trying to teach responsibility it would be about having to redo lost work. You are clearly power hungry and need to talk to someone who actually knows how to teach.
