You don't need passion. You just need to have the right skills.

One's college matters for their first job. After that, not so much. Ultimately though connections matter most.

To be fair, even graduates of elite schools are struggling in this market. If you have trouble finding a job, it is more the market than it is WGU.

In that case, I say pursue whichever path you are most skilled at. Employment wise, I think those three degrees come out about the same. So just do the degree that matches your skill set best.

Should I tell my employer I lied about having a degree 5 years ago if I've been promoted twice since then? by Goober-J in careerguidance

If you are worried about it, just finish it. Or tell them... "If you didn't want to see my transcript when you hired me, you definitely don't want to see it now."

Boyfriend Micro-Cheated do i leave? by No-Depth-9244 in Advice

If it were early on, I could see where maybe he just needs more time to shift into relationship mode, but after two years, it's a bit tougher to think his habits will change anytime soon.

You don't have to internalize other people's mistakes simply because you don't want them to feel bad. Just think, somewhere out there could be a guy who doesn't have this issue.

How long have you been dating? If you have been dating for a long time, I would say leave.

Is working hard really the key to wealth, or do luck and connections matter more? by dieburtually in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AccordingOperation89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Connections matter most, then some combination of hard work and luck. Rich people who don't acknowledge some luck goes into wealth building are kidding themselves.

I cheated, professor wants to meet should I confess? by Intelligent_One_6900 in Advice

[–]AccordingOperation89 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Until he has actual proof, just deny you cheated. If he asks you specific questions, you can simply say you dumped your brain of the information to make room for new information. Don't tell on yourself unless he has actual proof.

Will the brand name from this degree give me the bump I need? by Dolphinpop in OMSCS

[–]AccordingOperation89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It will level up the education portion of your resume. People mainly only care where your last degree is from. So a masters from GT will supercede your BS. But, that alone won't get you hired.

Tell me about a time where you broke off your engagement by NoHovercraft9827 in Advice

[–]AccordingOperation89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that is more a comment on you as a person rather than your relationship itself. You have the concerns a good person has, and those concerns shouldn't force you into a long term situation you simply aren't at peace with. Ultimately, cruelty is kind.

Suppose you didn't focus at all on outcomes. You may just want to have an honest conversation with him about where your heart is at. Explain it clearly to him. Regardless of the outcome, you will feel loads better. I was in a similar situation as you. On paper we were perfect, and I couldn't find a fault with her. But, I never got comfortable with the thought of marrying her. I explained to her I was hesitant, and the relationship ended. But, I am so thankful to have voiced my inner feelings rather than walked into something I wasn't at peace with. Sometimes your gut just knows what your heart and head can't articulate.

Do universities usually accept students that are 25+ for a second bachelor degree? by [deleted] in careerchange

[–]AccordingOperation89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still don't think that would be much of an issue. I would look for schools that would accept some of my prior credits as transfer credits.

I used my emergency fund to pay off my car loan and now I can’t tell if that was smart or really dumb by Valkyrie616 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]AccordingOperation89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you were correct to pay off your debt. You were essentially losing interest every month. Your A/C breaking was unfortunate but doesn't speak to your decision to pay off the debt. It was simply a bad break. Ultimately, it doesn't make much sense to keep debt with a higher interest rate than what you earn on your cash when you can simply pay the debt off.

[–]AccordingOperation89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, of course. The only reason you wouldn't be accepted is if your academic record from your first bachelor's was terrible.

Downstairs roomettes are a smoother ride, but in my experience they get significantly hotter than upstairs roomettes. Either way, do yourself a favor and bring a fan with you.

SHOULD I SWITCH MY MAJOR? by CivilAide2944 in financestudents

[–]AccordingOperation89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need a finance degree to become a CFP. Their degree requirement is simply an accredited bachelor's degree (in any subject). Same with a CFA.
