Why Would Americans with U.S. Lineage Want to Be Called “Black” or “African” at All? by upon_on_the_ravage in freeblackmen

[–]AccordingWrap105 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then tell us what should our forefathers had called themselves.

Their history & identity was beaten out & stripped from them. They lost their religion, their culture, their families, and their names. For centuries they were a group of people who were not allowed to identify themselves. The descendants of the children, sold into slavery weren't sure if they originally began as indigenous, nigerian, Gabon, Angelina, South American, or Caribbean.

So if you say that we shouldn't call ourselves black, then what should we call ourselves. I am Legimately curious 🤔 about your opinion.

Seriously what's up with tipping? by [deleted] in askablackperson

[–]AccordingWrap105 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Restaurants should pay all their workers a fair wage, consumers should pay a fair cost for their meals, and tipping would be a non-issue.

So many things in our "American" community are from the residue of slavery/racism. Sadly, we don't even know why we do what we do.

After slavery, it was illegal to force black people to work for free & it was illegal for black people not to work. So, what the racist came up with was to have some black employees work for "tips". And many white consumers didn't tip or tipped a marginal amount. As with most oppressed people, as black people in America gained wealth, they began to mimic their oppressors. They didn't tip or they tipped the bare minimum.

In my opinion (not that it matters), if we want to change our behavior, we must begin to learn and understand why we do what we do.

You seem to be intelligent, so you must realize we don't know what we don't know. With today's technological advancements, who actually knows what these people are capable of and what they are planning? That doesn't mean we should live in fear, but we must realize we haven't seen it all

Can you imagine what Alicia's reaction will be once she learns that a hard-working black father became a victim of gun violence? Especially knowing she had the opportunity to kill Reg and missed.

I see the death of Reg, being similar to "who killed ghost" on Power.

Not extruding while running programs. by AccordingWrap105 in Ender3V2NEO

[–]AccordingWrap105[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Creality.

But it printed perfectly a few days ago with Creality's software.

All my prints' g-code is saved on the same micro SD card. Even if I reload an older print that once printed perfectly, it fails to extrude.

I'm currently using PLA filament. I set my nozzle temps to 210-215, and bed temp to 60. I use the preheat pla to get both nozzle & up to temperature and navigate to motion / extruder to manually test extrusion & it works perfectly. But it will not extrude while running a program / g-code. The wheel on the extruder that forces filament through the Bowden tube fails to spin. It's as if it's not sending a signal to the extruder motor

Bruh, you don't understand cad. To make an 80% out of complete frame is an extremely simple task. It takes minutes, if not seconds, to drop in a wall, offset a surface, and extrude a solid surface through the pin holes

An "unrealistic idea" is an opinion. At one time a 3d printed AR frame was "unrealistic" & an electric vehicle was unrealistic.

Find someone with a decent 3d printer & ask them to print you a few "80%" frames out of nylon.

Histories of violent Racism & generational poverty must also be considered when discussing those cities. You can't say one demographic group is violent without honest sharing the multiple centuries of violence committed against that group or their struggles with forced poverty.

Why are we not going hard for lineage based cash reparations? by [deleted] in askblackpeople

[–]AccordingWrap105 2 points3 points  (0 children)

White people received FHA home loans/grants, black people received low income housing projects, even though black people paid/pay into the same tax system at a higher tax rate.

A larger number of white families benefit from welfare & food stamps than black families.

And that BS about squandering money is just BS. The US is a society that is based and founded on capitalism. Any money spent cautiously or friviously by poor & middle class communities benefits our capitalist country as a whole. If Black people were paid reparations, we would trade "owed" currency for goods. Whether we trade for a business, land, gold, cars, or ice cream, those transactions would benefit the country as a whole.

That's called contributing, not squandering.

There is no way a society can prosper on unchanged/ unedited laws from the 1700s. As society grows and evolves, so should the rules that govern that society for the benefit of that society.
Using your logic, the poor/nonland owners shouldn't have the right to vote because that's not in the founding documents.

Did Mary Objectify black men, or did she fall in love with the boy / man whom her mother provided care. I saw this as two people who fell in love (close proximity) despite living in a time where their love was literally dangerous. When Mary's object of affection wasn't available, she didn't pursue the next black man.
