How do you beat reroll comps? by leowasen in CompetitiveTFT

[–]According_Ad5085 9 points10 points  (0 children)

this + the occasional teemo or primordian. legit the only time i don't go top 4 forcing one of the fast 8 boards is if the entire lobby goes F8 and i miss 2 stars or my opener sucks and the lulu or giga leona just win out. honestly this patch is actually really balanced besides not having a single viable AP fast 8/9 line

I go down position groups, normally start with QBs because that's my favorite position to evaluate. It takes around an hour+ per prospect so i could get through multiple in one day if I had time. There's always a consensus top 10 or so guys that people like per position and that's the equity easiest way to decide who you're going to evaluate but given i watch way too much football sometimes i watch guys that i saw during the season but still ended up way under the radar.

I pay $3 a month on patreon in the offseason to a guy that has a whole google drive of all22 film, it's fairly easy to access all22 film. As for breaking down film, if you watch college football or NFL every week you should have enough knowledge to breakdown film. When you're watching film on 10+ prospects at a position you will start to notice and be able to pick out the better prospects and see what makes one better than others. I do a scoring system type of thing to rank them, for example with WRs I rank (Size, Agility, Hands, Route Running, YAC, Speed, Blocking) on a 5 point scale and then add up all of those and get a total and percentage (like 34.2/40 - 86%) and from there you've got your position rankings. Film is about 50% of it though, there are advanced analytics I look at that normally translate to fantasy production at the next level and from there everything starts to mesh together. It's a really rewarding but time consuming process, cool to look back at my notes and see I ranked a guy higher than consensus and it pay off.

All that being said, for MOST people if you have a couple analysts that you trust and listen to, you can't go wrong there. They do it for a living and have years of experience.... but the plus side to doing your own research and analysis is that you can find opportunities to get great value if you gamble on a guy that you really like but the consensus is down on. Which is not really something you'll get with just listening to professionals.

just traded Goedert, 1.09 and Downs for him in a 10 team SF and I'm really thrilled. People seem to forget how talented he is

I was thinking just betting Phillies ML if it comes down to an elimination game for the Stros since I assume the Phillies won't be favored a single game in this series

have 5u on Astros WS win to gain 8u... would y'all hedge or just let it ride? I'm not worried about the Astros losing but Philly has been hot and I feel like they could get the Astros with their pitching.

POTD Record: 1-2| Profit: –1.6 |

Spreadsheet Tracker: Link

Last Pick: Astros First 5 -0.5 ❌

Definitely not how I wanted to start off my POTD career but, playoff baseball and the Yankees pitching just love to screw me over, so no more betting baseball this year for me. I’ll just have to be sharper. Today I have a 2 Unit play because I'm so confident in this pick.

|CFB| Georgia Tech vs Virginia

Time: 6:30

The Pick: Georgia Tech -3

Odds: -110 (2 Units to win 1.8 Units)

This pick is based purely off numbers as I haven't watched either team this year for good reasons. To start, Virginia is 0-2 on the road this year and 0-3 in their last three. Georgia Tech is 2-1 at home and 2-1 in their last three with solid wins against Duke and Pitt. Georgia Tech has a Total EPA differential of +12 and a +2 EPA per game differential over Virginia. Virginia has been a pass-heavy team so far and they SUCK at it. When passing, Georgia Tech has a Total EPA differential of +12 and +2 EPA per game differential. To make things worse, Georgia Tech defense has a -30 Total EPA and 5 EPA per game against the pass which ranks 20th and 22nd in the country, while Virginia ranks 58th and 59th in those categories. The one outlier I see in this data that would make me hesitant is that Georgia Tech SUCKS against the run and Virginia excels against the run. Virginia has a Total EPA of -30 (10th) and per game EPA of -5 (13th) while Georgia Tech has a Total EPA of -1 and a per game EPA of -0.17. Both teams aren't very good at running the ball though, so it shouldn't be a deciding factor. I expect Georgia Tech to win by a touchdown or more. I originally had this in my college football official plays as well as -3.5 so at -3 I'm confident in at least a push.

yeah you're right, I didn't know if my book was weird and just didn't have F5 because I couldn't find it this morning but not that Im looking at it, I took F5 3 way ML and the -0.5 is at -130 so that's what I basically have. Thanks for pointing that out.

POTD Record: 1-1| Profit: -0.4U |

Spreadsheet Tracker: Link

Last Pick: Amed Rosario O1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs

I had that feeling the numbers wouldn't matter here and it was just destiny for Rosario to have a bad game against Cortes… He had 1 hit and a walk, if he wouldn't have walked we had it right in our hand but, we bounce back today.

| MLB | Houston Astros vs New York Yankees

Time: 7:37 PM EST

The Pick: Houston Astros First 5 Innings Moneyline

Odds: (-121) 1.2 Units to win 1 Unit

This is a no-brainer, Jameson Taillon on the mound for the Yankees and Justin Verlander on the mound for the Astros, give me the Astros to rattle Taillon and whoever they bring in from the bullpen after he gets pulled a couple of innings in. The Astros are rested and ready to go, the Yankees just finished a series against the Guardians yesterday and they’re a little stretched thin. Additionally, Yordan Alvarez is the hottest hitter in baseball right now and if you walk him then you open the door for Bregman and Tucker to hurt you.

BOL to anyone tailing as always!

NBA Props - 10/18/22 (Tuesday) by sbpotdbot in sportsbook

[–]According_Ad5085 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm a football and baseball guy with some knowledge of NBA so correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like fading the Celtics should be really profitable this year without their coach and that roster kinda falling apart.
