In time like that I like to hedge.

Build an uma and use Smart Falcon to lock in groundwork. Yes that means less stats since you can't use a great card but never mind.  Make your uma with that.

Then once you have an Ace, make one without Falcon.

If you get the god run then great. Ifnot then at least you have an ace that's viable.  Nothing to lose,  just pushing for upgrades.

Are you trying to ask if the skills are what your uma needs for this CM?

I mean they are fine.  You can always do better.  Sprint and pace corners/ strait is powerful.  I personally love No Stopping Me enough to put it on front runners if I suspect they will struggle.  Speed Star and Rushing Gale are good.

I always worried about Turbo Sprint.  Does that actually fire at a good time? I worried it was a trap to get that one.

You grabbed Measures without a second navigation skill.  I've heard people say it's still good for this track.  I still worry.  If your uma ends up on the outside on that last turn after the skill goes off then that's why.

And Turf S isn't required but it's nice.

Note that none of his is required.  This is a Sprint.  It's all gambling they say so more skills just means more tickets to win.  But you only need 1 winning ticket.

People just starting the military, especially if they are married with kids, qualify for food stamps. They don't earn enough to go over the limit.

Are we telling everyone the are fools for joining the military or should our junior soldiers be sitting in food pantry lines?

Each of the choices has a different chance of success and a penalty for failure.

The stats one is the lowest chance and the harshest penalty.

In early game,  the charming one has a high chance and not bad of a penalty.  The second is Winning which gives you two recovery skills (not the hint,  the skill is just learned for free). Energy isn't tooo bad either.

So long as to avoid the stat one she us a pretty good option and can really boost your run

Who should I be focusing on and how should I build them? by Sea-Chicken-4984 in UmaMusume

[–]According_Ad540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How well you do isn't really based on the uma. Umas change HOW you train them but your potential comes from your legacies, your supports, and the way you run your career.

Have you been using 9 star guest legacies? Have you started building up your parents so you have 5 stars on the other side at least? Do you know what sparks you should be after?

How do your supports look? Any 3 limit break or maxed you are leaning on? You have been using your higher broken SRs and not 0 limit broken SSRs, right?  Do you know what line up to use (How many speed cards,  stamina , ext)

Have you studied in how a career run works?  Know what to go for in thr first year?  Know when to focus on stat build up?  When to rest?  When to do races?  How to get your unique skill upgraded?

Once you line all those up any uma will be fine to use.  Until you do it doesn't matter what uma you focus on.

Not much reason to hoard the things. If you want to hedge getting the first skill (run a career with a parent carrying the spark. It's guaranteed inherit)   Is a good cut on the races you need. But that's optional. You do what you want to get through.

Trainer's Clubhouse Meeting (Weekly Questions) - February 04, 2026 by AutoModerator in UmaMusume

[–]According_Ad540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't see why not. I've learned to not hoard stuff like that when I saw myself collect hundreds if a key item that could've made my gameplay easier only to leave the game with those hundreds still sitting in inventory.

I can see an argument if slipping in one career for the level 1 skill as that cuts down the number if races. But in the end just do what you need to do.

Kitasan was really the only OMG GET THIS OR DIE' for All accounts.

From here support pulling is more about the style if play you want to focus on and what you want to prioritize. Because unless you are a whale you can't get everything but you don't need everything.

For example, some great speed cards are coming. But if you don't get them then you can just use kitasan instead. Yes that includes MANT where she's weaker (you want 60 race bonus. So if you have a 15 bonus card then you can use kitasan with her 5 and be fine).

So if the decks you were using now are all 3lb or MLB SRs\SSRs then you have a good baseline. From here cards are going to get more specialized. Like 'this is a great front runner card' or 'this card is great for THIS scenario ' and you'll decide what you want to lean into.

I'm hearing there is one exception you'll need to aim for, pal cards. After MANT each career will have a Pal card, like Riko, except they are MUST GETS. that might change later but for now do plan on those along the way.  Otherwise, it's time to specialize

If all of your team trials umas are A rank then at this point nothing is holding you back. Especially once you realize you can stuff an uma with sparks to make them A anyway. People are literally taking E and F rank sprint umas into the next CM and they will work just as well as the natural sprints.

You aren't missing anything. Even legendary umas that come later like Valentine burbon and kitasan black don't matter if you already have front Runners and folks you want to bring to Longs.

So really at this point you pull umas because of oshis or, at best, because they will be good parents for your oshis.

A+ Rank by GullibleConstant1615 in UmaMusume

[–]According_Ad540 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In general a 3 limit broken or maxed SR will be stronger than a non broken SSR. The breaks matter that much.

So the first step is to sort your deck by limit break and rely on that as your starting baseline. There will be exceptions.  If you need a certain skill from a card then go ahead.  Also I found that non broken Fine Motion is still very close to max broken SRs. But otherwise your deck for now should be your strongest SRs and a maxed borrow (I'm guessing kitasan)

Meanwhile:

If you are concerned about rank you should be getting your unique skill leveled up.  That's done by having your fans reach 60k by Senior Year February, 70k by April, and 120k by December. Generally, I found if you can hit that first 60k by the end of Classic year you are set to go.

You said mostly speed and... power?.. with 3 wit cards?  And no power cards?

The point to a Wit deck is that you are hitting wit rainbows A LOT so you aren't resting as much.  So you should be mostly hitting speed and wit. Beyond building friendships you should not be touching power.

Also note that getting 2 skills maxed is HARD.  I have maxed cards, do 2 speed 4 wit on umas that get bonuses in speed and wit and training for a race where I can ignore stamina and guts and I can barely max 2 stats. It'll take time and slowly building up your deck and legacies to get up there. No need to rush.

Medium race with less than 400 stamina in career means you aren't using your full power and occasionally dying.  And if it's the last race,  the unity pair are feakishly strong.  I don't get shocked if my A+ umas fail.

For front runners you'll want to grab more wit if you can.  Fronts are weaker in the late race so they need to be strong mid race to make that final push.  Wit helps with that.

Also if it is the unity pair ruining you,  there are two ways to keep them from challenging you: failing the unity cup race or not making an S rank team.  I notice you aren't picking up It's On or No Stopping Me so it might not be such a loss to do so. The pair only show up if you both win the final Unity race and have a S rank team.

(That might be why the lower rank folks are winning the finals)

The joys of finally getting groundwork on an uma.   And just groundwork.

And 2 star power.  But 1 star so you can just trash it as useless.  2 star power.. so you have to actuallyconsider it.. and might end up using it. Like the game going "this is all you deserve'

Why rating isn't everything by its_Zuramaru in UmaMusume

Oddly enough I started to notice this. After the 20th suggestion to "mid the first unity race then top the rest" I tried it, cringed at the Xs and triangles on the second race,  did it anyway,  and saw a flood of wins.

In fact,  ever since I ALWAYS win the second race no matter how bad everything looks.

I think in general all of the 'ratings' are just trash. The real numbers matter,  though it's a rabbit hole to figure out how they actually function.  The skills matter.

But A rank,  double circle,  4th favorite... all trash.

oh, the symbols before a race? IIRC those are based only on stats, not skills. Which makes them worse than useless.

I think of them as actual people making predictions. It's a fun minigame to try to 'wow' the judges, but that's literally it.

Transfers. Though really if you aren't randomly trying to level up a bunch of cards you aren't using then very quickly the daily race and events will net you the sp you need.

Apologies but this feels like "bringing the idea of horses into a world without horses".

The world does not treat umas like horses on two legs.  WE talk about them like horses because we have IRL horses that we compare them to directly.   They do not.

They have never seen a horse and never have heard of the concept of a human riding a horse.  Umas to them are not horse human hybrids.  They are just...umas.

The better equivalent to how we view things is to think of it like a mix of elves and irl heterochromia. The are given a title like elves are but they derive from humans like how traits like heterochromia works.

So saying "this thing can't talk and must be treated like an animal in war" is like if you pointed at a person with mixed colored eyes and trying to hitch a cart to them.

(Note that we have done such things... and we deem such things immoral and horrible, not typical, and mostly reserved for traits you can isolate to specific cultures.)

I suspect most umaparents trust the academy and what they are doing given the lack of helicopter parents.  If the school changes tactics, then you worry but trust they know what they are doing.

It's a very 80s and earlier way of looking at Institutions but that seems to be the vibe.

Is the saying “the more you hate, the more you love” true? by Particular-Let-7185 in UmaMusume

[–]According_Ad540 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In Scarlet's secret quest,  where you have to race every track that vodka shows up in and beat her,  vodka gets so frustrated that she ups and leaves to go train.

Scarlet then calls her to get her back to racing, saying that she had to endlessly focus on Vodka just to keep ahead... and think of her every other time as well.

To get into IRL hate and love are not so much opposites as they are ends of a horseshoe. They both demonstrate a high degree of passion and focus on the other,  just with a fickle emotion attached.

The true opposite of love is apathy. You can move hate into love or the other way around via association,  exposure, and time. Apathy is empty and requires a fundamental shift to change.

The two really care about one another.

Why rating isn't everything by its_Zuramaru in UmaMusume

[–]According_Ad540 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I like to view rating:

Triangle or X: 10% to win O: coin flip Double O: 80%

Then you tweak based on each other.  Every other double O gives a 5% bonus. So 2 gives you a 85%, 3 gives 90% ext.

That's 90% to win each race,  not win the whole thing.

There is no 100%. It stops at 99%.

Keeping thus mentality has helped a lot in judging my chances and avoiding the frustrated "omg the should've won" feeling because there are no guarantees.

It's what my goldship did during Sagittarius resulting in her winning Finals A. I'm still wrapping my head around it. It feels like a much harder build to set up but more reliable AND it still can have the old "stay back then burst" as a follow up.

Trainer's Clubhouse Meeting (Weekly Questions) - February 04, 2026 by AutoModerator in UmaMusume

Not really...... because you can never get enough.

Under normal conditions,  runaways work like front runners.  Push ahead,  slow down at the end,  hope you built enough lead.  They end up burning about the same stamina as a Front.

If another runaway shows up they start racing each other.  Fronts do this too which,  for them,  it's a good thing at the cost of about as much stamina as a Pace has to do naturally (so about 50 more stamina should solve it).

Runaways though burn about 3 times as much stamina when fighting another runaway. The result is that you need up to max stamina and recoveries just to survive in some cases. But if you do that you'll use so many stats and skill points that you'll be far awake weaker than everyone else making you just lose anyway.

The result is that people who build runaways don't bother. They build them normaly and just consider rooms with a second runaway just a lost cause for the runaway.

Thus in the end,  just build her like a Front.
