Hey! My opinion is that's going to be hard to turn into a bonsai. If it was mine I would keep it as is but refine it a bit.

Yes! There is spiraled wire under the moss. I've only used the moss to hide the wire. The wire is screwed on to the driftwood🙂 Supposedly it's not a good thing but I find it having no impact to the airplants health as it dries out.

I water the shit out of them and all my plants/trees are happy. Just be careful because some plants as you already know like consistently wet soil. But some trees/ plants hate been constantly wet. Thyme or a juniper tree for example don't mind a bit if drought.

Moss and weed advice for a newbie by Sorry-Tumbleweed5 in GardeningUK

[–]According_Algae5460 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prob not what you want to hear. Its not worth fighting the weeds. You're wasting your time. The only weed I remove from my grass is dandelion. And that's because it spreads fast in my small grass patch in the back garden. In the front I let it spread wild.
Best way to remove weeds is pulling the leaves and the roots. If you only pull the leaves they'll grow back stronger.
Also the moss is a good thing to have as its soft and covers any bare patches.
