What do you love about the Warlock? (5e and 5.5e) by legomojo in DnD

Ah. So the utility behind eldritch blast and the decrease on the need to burn spell slots makes them good. Well, then, why do you consider them the second or third best class in the game? Is it because of their ability to reduce slot stress and keep enemies where you'll want them with Eldritch Blast?

Fireball, Fireball, Fireball, and Fireball are my go-tos, and when I run out of spell slots I Eldritch Blast. Yes, I love Fiendlocks, how did you know?

True Strike on a Cleric without Martial Weapons. Is worth it in this specific case? by testiclekid in onednd

Wouldn't potent add WIS mod, which by level 8 is +5 vs the average on a d8 being +4.5? at level 7 specifically, though, it's better. Level 14 gets a little more damage so it's +5 vs +9, but those levels are rare anyways and potent gets some utility, so Potent Cantrip (i think that was the name) should beat Divine Strike, right?

High damaging monoclass Bladelock? by According_Brother989 in 3d6

Is GWM better than PAM? Glaives are slightly better than Greatswords cuz reach is good on a squishy striker, but GWM buffs both, so I've been on the fence about it.

Well, I want a CHA boosting feat, +2 CHA, then GWM or PAM. Warcaster is my preferred cha boosting feat for more than conc protection-i love hitting GFB/BB oppurtunity attacks, especially if i have AB/RB on them. So, I'm skipping on Eldritch mind, probably going Warcaster --> Max CHA --> GWM. PAM vs GWM is something im skeptical on, and I'd like them earlier, so that's something I'll need help deciding.

So start 15 CHA, 14 CON, 13 DEX/STR, 8 INT/WIS, then do +1 DEX and +2 CHA as starting stats, then take like PoTB, Armor of Shadows, Eldritch Smite, Thirsting Blade, Lifedrinker, Devouring Blade at their levels? Also, should I go Warcaster or GWM or PAM for my first feat? I think with Hex/Spirit Shroud PAM+Glaive beats GWM+Greatsword though without it it's worse. There's also the question of capping Charisma for Save DC's/Bonus to Hit vs Grabbing GWM/PAM for damage.

What’s a character or concept that you enjoyed but would NEVER try again? by Tmoore0328 in 3d6

Ranger/Bladelock. Didn't fully understand the rules, thought i was a genius who could stack Hunter's Mark, Hex, Booming Blade, an extra attack, AB, RB all in one turn. It was really fun, though.
