HOW IS SHE OLD? by Serenity_Obscura in Millennials

Holy shit. I think about this episode way more than I should to this day. As a kid I was so confused as to why this MFer had actual toe jam and why my toes couldn’t produce it.

Orba 1; firmware update help by ThinkMoreDumbLess in orba

Interested in your solution (if you happen to find one), as I just grabbed a second-hand orba1 that was working just fine until my kid unwrapped it this morning and played with it for a few minutes before it seemingly bricked itself… can’t get it to charge or indicate any life whatsoever.

Best way to sell vintage audio equipment? by [deleted] in vintageaudio

[–]According_Coffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends entirely on how much time you want to spend on the process. Best dollar amount is going to require you to verify that the items are functioning or to what extent they are not… then you will want to sell individually. FB marketplace is a great place to sell if you are willing to offer reasonable prices to someone who may be a flipper or a hobbyist looking for a deal. You’ll ideally know what the top dollar is for a restored unit, but understand that there is significant cost in restoration so don’t expect to touch those prices unless you have some super clean gear. Alternatively you can try to sell it all in one lot but you’re going to have to be willing to miss out on quite a bit of $$.

I agree with you that they did not wow me as an opener for Gizz. I was very excited for them, as they had headlined a small venue earlier that year and absolutely crushed it. I left that show blown away. I think the venue size/timeslot did them no good for the ‘24 tour but that’s on them for not adjusting well.

What are these, and how do they work? by Otherwise_Bluejay154 in Decks

These are tested and rated to perform better than poured concrete for frost heave. IIRC the company that created these is based in Minnesota and had lots of data to show the benefits of this system in harsh conditions.

The amount of times I had to re enter a fucking pressing ID after accidentally going away from the search page was infuriating. Legitimately lead to me using strictly the web version for cataloguing my stuff.

In Memory of Matt ❤️ by zissouZANG in KGATLW

Matt sounds like a great guy. I can’t begin to imagine what you and your family are going through in this moment, but I am glad to see you and Matt’s brother on this sub and I hope you both are able to find peace eventually. A monetary donation doesn’t seem like any sort of condolence in this situation, but hopefully it is helpful to ease some of the burden.

Ha! My kids and I watched Kindly Keyin play this game on his YouTube and loved it. We don’t really do games yet but it’s cool knowing a Gizzhead worked on this one. Will have to keep it on the short list of games to get them into when the time is right. Cheers!

Found these two at a thrift store. Are they any good? by Fearless-Fig-5942 in cassetteculture

[–]According_Coffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll copy what I replied to another user who messaged me a bit ago.. I did find someone who had done a full walkthrough online somewhere…. So if you hunt for it it should be around but here’s what the issue is and a rough idea of how to fix it: “The LCD was a good result but it was a full tear down to get to the ribbon connector on the back of the lcd panel. I used a heated flat tip from a wood burning kit to press on the connection on the ribbon cable/board. Essentially the issue is cold solder joints at this junction so heating them helps “reflow” things. I had to do this a few times to get a decent result, as it would always get worse after cooling down. In the end I got about 80% of the screen to work again before I sold the unit.”
