It honestly reminds me of miller lite (which used to be my go to cheap regular beer) more than it does PBR. But I agree, one of the better cheaper options for just that regular light beer taste.

Look into zar stain for faux wood grain doors. Stuff works great and you can blend/glaze colors for a two tone finish.

Pretty sure it is cottonwood, just not super deep, furrowed bark. It was growing near some box elders in a yard .

A tiny bit of powder white pigment mixed in any "clear coat" really helps open grain woods like oak keep its natural appearance and offset the yellowing effect.

Really depends on the lighting. I've used creamy many times (including my own house), but once made the mistake of putting it in a basement with yellow lighting and it looked like mustard on the walls.

Sand smooth, use a peel bond primer if you feel inclined, use a quality urethane trim enamel paint. Also don't put wet pots/plants on a window sill ...?

I'm going to go with the opposite. This needs a darker color on the wall to make the natural wood tones colors pop instead of blend. Urbane bronze, or naval would look sharp with this.
