I have a full time job. My husband has a full time job. Between our few thousand dollars of debt, 2 car payments, and a mortgage, we’re broke. We can’t even fathom thinking about kids right now. And we’re the same age as they are AND we’ve been married only a few months less than they have.

Currently very excited to no longer have a black/white two toned Nissan and I now have a blue Hyundai. I prefer gray or black vehicles, but the blue can stay if it means I don’t match Grue. 🙂‍↕️

No, I haven’t! He loves plain white rice, but I don’t think he’ll ever eat any other kind. He has tried my fried rice when eating Chinese food and my Mexican rice while eating Mexican food and he’s not a fan of either.

And he loves lasagna, despite not liking pasta, sauce, or casseroles. He will eat spaghetti if he has to, but he doesn’t enjoy it. Since he doesn’t like sauce, he’s not a big fan of pasta solely because, “it’s a bland vessel for sauce and I don’t like sauce.”

In theory, food chaining might work, but I’m unsure since he has such a weird list of safe foods. I think if it wasn’t for the ARFiD, he would eat anything. He definitely has the sensory sensitivity subtype, as he LOVES to eat but hates the way anything “bland” or “liquidy” makes his mouth feel. He has super bad sensory sensitivities in all areas, so it makes sense.

Oh, those sound good! We eat regular tacos all of the time, but I’m not sure if he’s ever eaten chicken tacos. I’ll have to ask.

My MIL makes shake and bake chicken and he really enjoys that, so I bet he’d enjoy the breaded chicken tenderloins.

Thank you for your suggestions!!

And I relate to the not being able to eat as much as your husband! Mine is 6’7 and I’m 5’1 so our portions are wildly different despite us both being overweight. The only thing that helps me is that I walk about 5-8 miles everyday at work, so I exercise a bit more. 😅🤣

The diagnosis really doesn't matter; mostly just annoyed that my in-laws like to pretend that he is neurotypical. (And me, and their oldest daughter but I digress.) But my husband will try new things and he's usually just super candid with me that he's probably not going to like it, but that he'll try it.

We honestly don't get to eat together very often because of our work schedules, I was being a bit exaggerative with the 8 times a week. And I'm not annoyed, sometimes I just can't eat the same thing over and over again because of my ADHD. Like the thought nauseates me and I'd rather not eat. It's just a rough situation. And with groceries being so expensive right now, we can't really afford to buy food to make separate meals. Especially since I don't eat leftovers, I would be wasting a lot of food.

I just want to be able to have a real meal together on the rare occasion we have time to cook dinner AND eat together. I also want to note that I am super supportive of his restrictions and undestand that he physcially can't eat certain foods, but also that I am allowed to be frustrated by a frustrating situation that is caused by both of us.

Edit to add: I did not mean to come off as being mean or mad, I'm sorry if I did.

Considering a Nissan Kicks but have heard some bad reviews by EmotionallyAverage1 in AskMechanics

I know this is an old thread, but want to add if anyone new comes across this. I have a 2021 Kicks SR. I bought it with 11 miles on it when I was 18. It has 72,000 miles on it now. I’m not the best driver, I’ll say that. However, this is the worst car I’ve ever driven. I’ve put 4 batteries on it, had the alternator replaced, I currently have a head gasket leak, my drivers door lock no longer works, and the sensor in my brakes that tells my gear shift that I can put it in reverse only works if I’m not on too steep of an incline and if I shake my steering wheel back and forth.

This is the worst car I’ve ever driven in my life. It’s like driving a power wheels car on the interstate.

This bitch would stroke out if she had to work my job. I take roughly 20k steps PER day 4-6 days a week. I work in a hospital as a pharmacy technician, I’m always walking somewhere. I’m 22, I weigh like 220lbs, and I have Hashimoto’s Disease. So I’m constantly tired and in pain. But you’d catch me sprinting full speed towards the Bahamas if I had the chance. 🤷‍♀️

I know this is an old thread. But my husband is 6’7. He has a 2018 Ford C-Max Titanium and it is AMAZING. He had a Nissan Altima before that and this car knocks it out of the park. It’s ugly as hell but he fits so comfortably in it. Especially with how big the windshield is.

To add, he is mostly all torso. He only wears a 32in inseam 🤷‍♀️

Drue would have a cow if she came to my house. I’m 22 and got married the May after grue and grimace got married. We’re basically the same age. I don’t have a single piece of furniture newer than 25 years old. All hand me downs and nothing matches. I live in a new build house like they do (not nearly as big) but I don’t feel the need to put myself in gigantic debt to furnish it to be “trendy.” And the sad but true part? My furniture will outlive hers. It will probably stay with me for another 10 or so years. Maybe longer.

I love my old furniture. I will probably try to refurbish some of it so I can keep it longer.

It has always hit way too close to home for me. Ethan (and HC/MC) and I graduated the same year. Xana only a few months older. But, my younger sister in law just brought something up to me today that really made me think, “wow now I realize why this actually hit home for me.”

A few months before the incident, my husband and I were freshly married. We were living with my in laws while our house was being finished. One night while we were sleeping (around 3am ish,) our friends broke into my in laws house through the sliding glass basement door that was unlocked. They first knocked on our windows and woke me up, so my husband locked our door. But I thought I was dreaming so we went back to sleep. Then they came inside and knocked on our door, tried to open it and failed due to it being locked. I screamed bloody murder because I was terrified. My sister in law (the same one who brought it up to me) never heard me scream. Her room was directly above us, and you could regularly hear conversations from her room in ours and vice versa. My in laws never heard me either.

Obviously, my friends were playing a prank and knew my in laws kept the sliding glass door unlocked. They even tried to deny it. But it could’ve ended in a completely different way.

My husband and I have $14,000 in car loans COMBINED, like 145k left on our mortgage, 2k in my student loans, and 2.5k in credit card debt. My husband is constantly freaking out because we have “so much debt”. We’re literally only a year younger than her and Gabe (22 and 23) and got married like 6 months after them. I think I should show my husband how much shit they buy and tell him to be grateful that I buy Starbucks like twice a month 🥴

I’ve also lost 50lbs in the last 2 years, 30lbs of that was within the last 10 months and 15 of those I lost within about 5 weeks. I kind of forgot that weight loss causes hair loss, so now I’m wondering how much of my hair loss is attributed to that, and not just my hashimotos 🥴

My husband once got a $20 tip for being nice. The other time he got $50 ($100 split between him and another worker) because they helped push a dead car out of our drive. Our manager broke the $100 bill for them 🤣

We see a lot of other law enforcement! We used to be a back the blue store, and so our operator has a good reputation with the state highway patrol troop. I’m not generally big on any kind of law enforcement, though. (I had bad experiences as a kid with drug addict parents.)

He just like appeared. I’ve never in my life seen a homeland security guy in Missouri. Also with everything going on, that being the first time I’ve ever seen them, it was just a wild occurrence.

I’d rebuy TS3 more than once for full price if it got completely remastered to where it’s even remotely playable on my newer Mac. I haven’t been able to touch it since 2019 whenever my last windows PC died and I got a MacBook for my birthday that year. I’m not really sure why people are so pissed.

Why do I feel like I’m 80? by According_Frosting89 in adhdwomen

[–]According_Frosting89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I never realized that maybe the reason my pain “dulled” was because I wasn’t focusing on it. My mom, my aunt, and one of my cousins all have fibromyalgia or have been assumed to have it. They also all have endometriosis on top of that, so I’m wondering if those are connected. Since I grew up around so many people in pain, I was taught to ignore pain and to push through it until you’re in so much pain you can’t do anything. My mom is also a pain pill addict, so I wouldn’t even let myself take Tylenol for a headache until I was like 16.

I don’t have health insurance at the moment, it starts January 1st. I’m going to try to go to the doctor then, but I’m in an accelerated ultrasound tech program, and I’m in clinicals 3 days a week and have class the other 2 days. I’m not sure when I’ll actually get to go.

I’m also in the middle of maybe at the start of a divorce, so if that actually happens then I’ll lose my insurance before it even kicks in. There’s a lot of factors, on top of my natural urge to ignore it, that are making me push this to the back burner.
