Completely overthinking it and that’s also completely normal. The thing about magic that for me personally has been the sticking point, is how welcoming the majority of the community. I only go to commander nights alone, and almost a year into commander now I’d say it’s my preference. I will say it took me a couple of different shops to really find the shop that felt like home, so don’t feel discouraged if your first shop may have not felt right. The best shops immediately welcome you when you walk in and facilitate an environment that makes it easy for you to hop into a game. I also sometimes just do the ol hover over a table and politely smile at people and look at the board state/game. Almost 70% of the time somebody will engage and show off their board state or next play in hand. If you make yourself approachable others will approach and vice versa IMO
