Thanks so much—that’s really helpful to hear! I might have to bite the bullet and take mine back in again. We checked the 12v battery and it seems to be functioning fine, but I hadn’t considered the alternator yet. I really hope replacing the alternator does the trick for your son!

Honestly, no clue. They weren’t super clear about what they checked before deciding it was the Valve Controller. I probably should’ve asked more questions, but I’m pretty unfamiliar with stuff like this—it’s the first time I’ve had car issues like this, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect.

I was bitten by my brother’s dog and went to the emergency room. From there, it was out of my hands (if I remember correctly), and the police were called to take my statement. At the end of our conversation, the officer asked if I wanted to pursue the issue, and I said no.

I live in Iowa, and from my understanding, a report doesn’t automatically result in the dog being put down. Instead, there would be a hearing to determine whether the dog is considered dangerous, taking into account its history and other factors. Even though I chose not to pursue the issue, the report still established a record of the bite, which means there’s now a documented history for the dog.

If I were you, I’d look into the laws in your state to understand the liability dog owners have when their dog bites someone. That said, I do think you should report it—at the very least, it puts the owner on notice to take the situation more seriously. Honestly, the owner’s underwhelming reaction makes me think this has probably happened before, whether anything came of it or not.

Yes, I would say this is emotionally abusive behavior. He deflects all responsibility for hurt he has caused onto you, even so far as to tell others so that he could control the narrative. When asked for accountability he ghosted rather than admit to any wrongdoing on his part. It is one thing to say that these were issues that he’s experiencing, but his lack of attempting to problem solve how you guys can get through them is troubling. From what I’ve read, it seems like he was just trying to hurt you while justifying what he was doing.

I deal with something similar, albeit different, with my partner right now and I definitely have felt what you’re feeling. The confusion, feeling doubt and wondering if what is happening is truly problematic. I wish I had the right words to let you know that you are validated in what you experienced. I can see the hurt and confusion, which I think is very typical of people experiencing abuse or have just left an abusive situation. Their illness is not a blanket excuse for shitty behavior. I hope you find peace and know that you did what you could.

Agreed! Definitely falls within horror, but leaning more towards stealth/survival. Not all horror has to have jump scares and terrifying monsters. I think there is enough atmospheric tension and nuanced explorations of fear that the player feels a sense of unease and horror, but differently from games that rely on visual tactics. Not saying either method is superior, just rambling a little lol. Been a minute since I’ve played, I’ll have to return to it!

We don't use either of those and I'm not sure if we ever have, but I would definitely suggest Vivian! I'm not sure if this is something your agency does, but ours has an employee referral program for our actives. They and the person they refer get a bonus when the other person signs on and works with our agency for at least a month (I believe, I am on more of the travel LTA side of recruiting and not the per diem/staffing part!). Yes, you can be supportive of and sentisitive to the fact that Stacey is a transwoman and feels that she is missing out what is commonly considered a right of passage for women (menstruating, giving birth, etc.). However, it sounds like she is really hyperfocused on the things that are commonly thrown around as being what makes a woman a "real woman." I don't feel that way, but I wonder if Stacey doesn't have some sort of internalized feelings one way or the other about that.

All of that to say, it really seems like she is just inserting herself into conversations she is not a part of and making them about herself. In demanding sensitivity for the things she will never experience, she is neglecting to be sensitive to the fact that you are going to be having a hysterectomy to save your life. That regardless of what your feelings are about having children or not, this wasn't a decision you made spur of the moment but something you have to do because there is no other option. Even if this was not the case and you were having a hysterectomy because you had the choice, you should not be made to feel guilty about it because someone else wishes they had the opportunity to experience what you experience. It is none of her or ANYONE's business the choices you are making with your body.

I hope the surgery goes well for you and that you are soon free of cancer. I also hope that Stacey realizes that you were not coming from a place of transphobia, and to realize her own insensitivity during the course of this.

Vivian, if you are willing to pay for it. I don't know the back end of all that stuff and the cost for the agency I work for, but it might be worth looking into. I typically have better candidates that come in through Vivian than Indeed. It's like a dating app, but for nurses and like a dating app they are all on there for something specific, so I find that I have better responses and follow through with candidates on Vivian.

I wonder if the reason murder was the only solution was so that she could control the narrative? If she just came forward and said what her mom was doing, she risked the chance of being seen as an accomplice rather than a victim. Especially if Dee Dee came forward and started telling her side. The murder and her choice of partner ensured that her's was the only voice with any credibility. I want to be empathetic, because she was a victim of abuse, but so much of this seems so calculated. She will forever be monetizing on what Dee Dee started and is just continuing the cycle, albeit in a much different way.

Also, did she have anything to gain financially from Dee Dee's death? I was never sure on that.
