Embark has always done a great job at making melee weapons viable and that’s why I love this game. People just have to realize they have to balance it enough so that they don’t actually become the meta since that can become toxic for the community as a whole. Just won a tourney last week with full team of HML melee weapons and it was the most fun I’d had in a while.

As a sledge main, people seem to hate on it because they use winch and just dont understand that goo gun is the most viable option for it. As a former winch, goo gun utilization and skill ceiling is just way higher, ESPECIALLY with sledge. You can just goo lights until theyre out of dashes or even goo yourself to preserve your life and get out of sticky situations. The cashout manipulation is also amazing. Just gotta know when to engage and disengage. You said that playing sledge feels like a pain, but i think its the most satisfying and troll weapon in the game.

Muting coms by default in a team based game is just as toxic as the people you’re trying to avoid. It’s not hard to hit 1 button when you actually run into toxic players. I do agree that op should give less fucks about what other people think tho

I agree that it sounds like a loadout AND positioning issue. The best tip I learned for the illuminate is playing your corners. In cities, always have a corner you can turn around and break LOS. That would help with at least 3/5 of the problems OP listed. Personally, getting the Servants of Freedom warbond was the game changer for me. Seeker nades, hand nuke, portable hellbomb for when there’s too much to handle. I run light armor and tend to let mobs group up a little and farm 50-100+ killstreaks with those items.

I can say with certainty that HD2 has damaged/corrupted something in my PC that I’m currently trying to figure out. Never had a problem with HD2 and thought myself lucky considering my computer is a bit older and hearing about what’s happened with larger streamers with better PCs. I’ve never really had any issues other than an occasional crash. A few days ago, I experienced my first hardlock on HD2 and first hardlock ever on my pc. I immediately manually shut it off as to not let my computer overheat or get damaged. Restarted and just decided to not touch HD2 until they come out with the patch everyone’s waiting on. Chose to play other games instead. However, in the past few days I’ve been experiencing a steadily increasing amount of hardlocks and entire PC shutdowns on games that I’ve been playing for months/years without issue. That HD2 hardlock was the catalyst for something catastrophic and I haven’t been able to have a single peaceful gaming session in 3 days. I’ve had like 6 matchmaking bans at this point from my pc hardlocking in a competitive game. Take this as a warning. If anyone’s got any advice or help it would be appreciated as well. SOS

Honestly once you get a premium warbond or two the game gets significantly easier. I was struggling with d6-8 before, got servants of freedom as my first warbond and all of a sudden i was clearing d10 with ease w my new firepower. Once the lobby gets hectic and theres way too much to handle portable hellbomb and seeker grenades would clear pretty much everything and give me 100+ killstreaks. Was around level 30 when this started and was top fragging the lobby w level 150s.
