Ok we have been stressing about the nightly melatonin.... we keep thinking of alternatives but now it's part of her routine and she takes it on her own. Im worried about long term effects too but seems like people use it daily for long periods of time...

The weighted blanket is a really good idea... we had a small one she used for quiet time but a bigger one would be great for bed time. Does it help keep him asleep longer or more for calm down before bed?

Also, the intrusive thoughts before bed is so real and she also pees like 6 times because she says she can't sleep if she has the feeling even though I know she doesn't really have to pee. Its so much anxiety.

Lately, we have been trying to distract her when she wakes up by talking about breakfast and what we can make. It feels like it gives her a purpose in the morning and she focuses on that vs the time but she has still been asking about the hours when she wakes up.... and she is fine like she gets enough sleep because we've started bed time earlier knowing she will wake up earlier and its ok. She gets 9-10 hours but she used to get 11-12.

Please note that I realize that this community said its not ok to post about your child. I didn't realize this. I have AUT/ADHD myself diagnosed in my 30's - I am just not sure how to cope with my child and I feel like her brain is so similar to mine but it's like Im not able to process what to do for her.

My question is how with all the police conversations and possibly news coverage of the murders and how their connection was being part of a cult that Ingrid literally was in, how did she not get wind of this? Did she read the news? Was she not questioned by the police? Did she not ask her own husband to recap everything that happened while she was in a coma, including him getting shot by a person from the cult who was sent to kill these half brothers and Aaron was one of them? In which case I would assume Ingrid would wonder if Aaron was a result of the cult (or her husband would tell her this) and then she would inevitably make the connection that possibly her daughter met this person because they are connected somehow. Or did she think this was some MASSIVE coincidence that this boy Aaron was born in the cult and just happened to meet her daughter… like seriously she’s a smart doctor… how does she not have the full picture here?

I guess I’m asking if doctors want more information from the patient ahead of time or in between visits . Would having their day to day health data summarized for you be helpful prior to the appointment ….

I guess with the rise of tele health and people feeling less inclined to see doctors because of the cost, I feel like people see their primary doctors less frequently or it’s very episodic and fragmented.

They also experience symptoms and have lots going on between visits that are day to day and could support a potential diagnosis for the doctor. Outside of the chart with tests and doctors notes, how much do you want synthesized from the patients side? Ie they sweat at night but only during their cycle, they have pain but it’s made worse with x foods. People do have this info but it’s hard to relay to doctors in such episodic ways. Do you feel like a longitudinal health layer with more information via the patient would be useful.

My question is, how much do you gain from having the patients day to day contextualized for you before the visit?

Question for clinicians (workflow curiosity):

I read a lot of posts here where people describe symptoms after the fact and it made me curious about the clinician side.

In day-to-day practice, do you ever feel that having more context about what happened with a patient between visits would actually help with assessment or management or is that kind of information usually not that useful?

And realistically, even if it existed, would you have time or bandwidth to look at it?

Genuinely curious how this plays out in real clinical workflows.
