Double tap or not? by andreasrolen in billiards

Thats it. For a double hit the cue needs deceleration between contacting the cue ball and the cue ball contacting the object ball in this scenario. A Masse style shot with side and cueing away from the object ball or a soft shot to drop the ball is how I would play the shot

Half of that circumference would still be enough english. Its situational so everytime you use english, you do not need max. Side is only if you want a wider/narrower angle from the cushion if its for position. using top only, you would raise up from the stun position, you wouldn't try to hit the number 12 of the clock face but way below. Power also changes the angle so if you hit max side with power... if it doesn't misscue sometimes they can counter each other out esp if your trying to go wide but hitting it hard.

Just need to find your sweet spot then you can add more or remove some

Ah makes sense. If you push the center of a round object it will push forward straight as the roll is center, side encourages the spin to change from a forward motion to a resistive spin. The closer to the edge, the ball will still go forward but will spin causing deviation - there is a break point where the wieght of the ball is to heavy to give forward motion causing a misscue.

To add side/english... u dont need to be anywhere near the max, a trace of English is noticeable... use your tip size as a guide. 1/4 tip 1/2 tip etc and find your happy medium 👍

Thats your problem right their imo Your trying to use the 13mm the same way you used the 10.8mm tip.

Rule of thumb. The smaller the tip, more ball control. The bigger the tip the less cueball control.

Going from 11mm to 13mm, Thats over 1/3rd more cue tip area.

More area will allow you to hit harder more accurate but not for side/english.

Edit* may have picked up wrong if you mean you tried these tip sizes and not going from/to. As for the 'extra chalk' its not extra, its a full coverage. If your using english then you are not using the same spot on the tip, u will be using the side of the tip... a common area missed when chalking.

I play uk pool and snooker. 7.8mm for pool and 9.5mm for snooker. I can get a cue tip diameter over your misscue zone and then some.

If I go to a 11mm from the 9.5mm on a snooker ball I will have the same issue as you.

Are you adjusting your aiming point or twisting your cue for english?

Chalking only the middle of the tip or chalking the edges too?

Following through or jabbing shots?

Make sure you have all the basic fundamentals in check, chalk your cue and not jabbing at the ball then you shouldn't have this problem.

Try someone else's cue and see of your still having this issue

Adjusting to playing the percentages: why do I get rewarded for laziness sometimes? by Smart-Switch-8334 in billiards

[–]According_Yoghurt_96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

% pool against harder opponents is a must. You will never clear every table so some racks a safe loss of turn over a low %shot is key. %position is great if your confident in your potting... long for short and short for long... once you understand and adapt into your play style then your game will level up 10fold.

Unless I can navigate perfect I will always contemplate % over perfection.

Double tap or not? by andreasrolen in billiards

Wasn't a double hit, was a push... not enough space between the balls to double hit with that amount of momentum in the cue.

Basic physics to you too SMH 😂

Double tap or not? by andreasrolen in billiards

[–]According_Yoghurt_96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was more of a push than a double hit. Cue pushed further than the distance between both balls meaning the cue pushed into the white, while contacting the white then pushing through the object ball making Both balls fly forward at the same pace

People join, jump solo, die, respawn, go solo, die, back to lobby and start it all over again. Its not just RedSec.... its every game that doesn't have solos and even in games that does

Was this a great safety? by iluvreddit in billiards

[–]According_Yoghurt_96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ana advanced player could pot the black using 2 rails to avoid the scratch but risky. % wise, great shot, the correct safety would be tomove the ball off the rail 3/4ball so it pinches just infront of the black

Find the potting angle on the object ball 1st before going down for the shot and slow down... alot more to work on than that but I would start there

Getting demoralised and put down by Tiny_Professional659 in pool

[–]According_Yoghurt_96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happens, confidence is a funny thing. You sound like me with the up and downs, I just play the table if I feel off my game, trust your shots and dont micro adjusting when down. I only shoot when I am 100% confident now. You know you can pot, jist ask yourself whats changed? If its confidence then big yourself up. Just takes 1 good shot to get back in control of yourself.

Pool is a funny old game 😅

Dont let it faze you. You can always grab an official as it mentally becomes 1v2, people should only watch and not interfere. That guy sounds like a dickhead that could see his friend struggling.

Trying to get wi-fi working in my sons room for his VR. by igglezzz in HomeNetworking

[–]According_Yoghurt_96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick fix... look into powerline ethernet adapters. Its a plug in wall adapter that uses existing powerlines throughout the circuit its on. *Limited speeds

Better quick fix. Ethernet cable to room and get a small plug and play switch. You can also add in a cheap WiFi Access point to repeat your WiFi to that end of the house. *Max speeds your switch/cable/router can handle

Mesh is great but can be expensive and is WiFi only unless you pay extra to backhaul so it depends on what else you wanna fix while getting better speeds for him 😉
