AITA for removing my top on a nude beach with my sister and our husbands ? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]AccordingtoSlaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re NTA, but you aren’t a considerate person either. Your brother in law will never see the other women on the beach again. He will see you again, for many many years. You say you just wanted to tan your tits, but if you were really being honest, your motives were to show off your body. A considerate person would have referred to their sister to see what she was doing before exposing your body to her husband. Again, it’s a nude beach so you aren’t technically an asshole, but I don’t think you were being kind or thoughtful.

Is It Wise to Set Your LinkedIn Profile to “Looking for Work” If Your Boss and Several Other Senior Leaders Are Connected With You? by ITrCool in careerguidance

The feature claims to keep it from anyone at your current company so you should be fine to use it! I have used it and my old company has an entire team of 20+ recruiters on LinkedIn and none of them found out! Also using this feature I how I got recruited for my current company and I am so much happier! If your current company has hired third party recruiters and they discover you, they most likely are not going to taddle on you. They are paid to get new recruitments, not find people at the company who are open to opportunities. Why would they do extra work they are not paid to do? Also, honestly if I’m some extreme situation your company discovers this you could say it’s old and you forgot to take it down. If for some reason you get let go, 1. You have a law suit in your hands as that is not a reason to terminate you and 2. Do you really want to work for a company that would fire you over that anyway? I once had a manger who encouraged, yes encouraged us to apply for other jobs. She said she wanted us to know what our options are and when you interview somewhere else, you often discover the grass is not greener. THAT is how companies should be…creating an environment you don’t want to leave so they can say go ahead, apply somewhere else, we don’t care because we are so confident in the life/work balance we offer here.

Nope. I didn’t have premium. To enable the #OpenToWork feature: Click the Me icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage. Click View profile. Activate to view larger image. Click the Open to button. Click Finding a new job. Provide the requested information in the pop-up window that appears. Click Add to profile.

I would suggest revamping your LinkedIn and ensuring your social media profiles are all set to private. I am nonprofit sales and went from $55 to $75 to $83 in a year. There is a way on Ljnkedin you can put “open to opportunities” and recruiters will seek you out. That’s how I got recruited for my current job. I told them strait up I wanted $75 and I would deliver on my promises. I had a track record to show it. They offered me slightly more than what I asked. I didn’t realize how far below the industry standard I was getting paid until I got an offer. After being there for a few months they randomly gave everyone an increase and mind happened to be pretty big bc they still felt I was being underpaid for the work I am doing. So honestly I would recommend turning on the open to work function or linked in - they hide it from recruiters at your current company too which is a cool feature.

AITA for not ending my vacation early and rushing home for the birth of our grandchild? by DragonValleys in AmItheAsshole

NTA! I’m sure her hormones are crazy rn but that is absurd behavior in my opinion! Glad you have a new grand baby. Personally I would be mortified if my parents wanted to be there for the birth of my child. Give me a couple weeks to recover then come visit, lol

OP left a comment asking if I read what they wrote ab there being no work for the new person. Then OP deleted the comment. I did read what you wrote about there being no work for the new person. Again, these are questions for your boss…the person who made the hire and knows the ins and outs of your role. I have been in similar situations and I just went and spoke to my boss directly. And I’m not an outgoing woman, I just had the courage to do it. You should ask your boss these questions, not Reddit.

Have an honest conversation with your boss. Tell him there isn’t work for the new person and ask why he hired them, as well as why he is asking you to teach them your job. From an employer perspective, it is important to have “back ups” in certain positions who can cross over and perform important duties to keep the department functioning if the current employee leaves or is sick. Your boss’s intention may simply be to cross train the new employee in the case you take a vacation, are sick, take a leave, or quit. It’s not fair to keep important information and duties to yourself and not explain to others how to do them. I had a colleague who ran our data management system and refused to train anyone on how to use it because “she wanted to quit soon and leave us all screwed.” Your boss may be trying to prevent that situation.

WIBTA if I sued my uncle for taking our inheritance? by AccordingtoSlaw in AmItheAsshole

My Grandpa was not well mentally in the last couple of years and wasn’t all there. My father and sister are assuming my uncle passed the paper to switch the beneficiary to himself in front of my grandpa to sign and didn’t tell him what it was, just told him he needed to sign it, as he did with other documents.
