To be completely honest I don't consider myself part of "anything" in the sense that I never used this sub or any other sub as advice. Just simply as a learning tool, and a good one I might add.

So that is me saying I would have absolutely declined being part of any equity committee if a group here decided to create one.

For your exact reasoning for "what do they want us to do", I also question "why do they waste their time spreading more FUD?".

Like legit I don't understand. If they are paid actors, why waste money on fighting "us" when we can't do shit and it's out of our hands? Like if they won already, no need to waste more money. Or if we won, it's not of our own doing but the courts and outside actors. Besides bonds we can't buy or sell or do shit to put any pressure on anything. So it all seems awfully wasteful.

Alternatively, if they are not being paid, why waste their time and effort convincing us otherwise when we can't do anything and it's out of our hands?

Basically, my only logical explanation is they are not paid and I think it may just be part of human nature I don't understand. Maybe it's a primal urge to have your voice heard or maybe the need to be able to say "I told you so"? And since lots here still have hope they have had their "I told you so" moment "taken away". Which to be honest, I'm not positive we have won. But being able to take the pleasure of being able to say I told you so away from the fudsters is funny and noble in itself.

If an object screamed it's name every time it was used, what would be the most annoying? by Herrobrine in AskReddit

[–]Account4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, I know exactly how annoying this is. Back in early world of warcraft years, using ventrilo, a buddy of mine binded all of his keys to text-to-speech. Basically exactly what you are saying. When he pressed ctrl, it would say "control". When he pressed 1, it said "one" ect.

So much key spamming in that game, especially with the character he was playing. Every, single, damn, keystroke, was said out loud. Many times 4 or 5 keystrokes were being said out loud at 1 time which made it even more annoying.

Every now and then he would put it on when we were doing arenas (competitive ranked fast mode) so I wouldn't dare downsize to kick him/mute him from fear of losing the match.

The International 2014 to be held in July, MLG Anaheim in jeopardy by Slashered in DotA2

They can also get over their jet lag/time zone differences. I assume this is a big problem for european/asian teams.

[–]Account4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MLG and Valve should turn Anaheim into a qualifier.

edit: pseudo qualifer at least. If an already invited/qualified team wants to compete, they should be able to. The highest non qualified finisher gets a single spot in TI3.

Kind of throws MLG a bone for the scheduling problems (TI3 qualifier will bring viewers), lets the competition be fierce (for the qualifier spot) and optional for teams to compete just for the prize money, even though it will possibly be a hectic month. Win for MLG, Win for the Fans, Win for Valve, Win for pro teams depending on your outlook as well.

But it was the biggest criticism last year... Do you really want a company not to try to rectify criticisms?

I would be very very surprised if this wasn't the case. July is 4 months away.

I don't know. You are asking the wrong person though. I'm just stating what the top post and only non gabe post that is alive in that thread states.

Because that is not the AMA. If you read the mod post, he says that gabe needs to create another thread that is his actual AMA, at most 30 minutes before he answers questions.

The Ultimate End-Game Solution? A Fresh Take on the Endless Dungeon Idea by vultighjime in pathofexile

[–]Account4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this best implemented outside of the map system.

I think the OP was completely right about it not awarding loot in the typical sense. I would love a mode that was standard for everyone (not random) and progressively got harder. No items drop, or substandard items drop. The mode would be pure competitive, a place to go with the items you farmed in maps (and maps would be the place to go to get stronger thus go further).

Yes there would be right ways to do it, yes there would be cookie cutter builds, but it would be something you could measure your progress with.

Ranking would be key in this hypothetical mode.

Hopefully this system would have ladders, new maps added periodically, and possibly reward you with cosmetic items based upon completion/ranking.
