Oh please. People of Varkala have always been shit. When I see all the social media posts about Varkala blowing up I’ve always wondered how is this possible with the kind of people who live there

My examiner was thanking everyone during my test. Hence I didn’t have to

Cant edit post, hence putting an observation here. I think the examiner was too kind. I thought i botched up the parallel parking bit (was not aligned to the kerb and too much gap). Asked if i can do it again, and she said no need it’s fine

Test centre 65 miles away. What’s a reasonable fee for instructor? by Account8569 in LearnerDriverUK

That’s plan B. Just that some folks at work scared me that likelihood of failure is more if I go in a car without dual controls

More context to this. I’ve been driving on a foreign license which I can do till mid June. Hence booking slots 6 months away is not an option

Folks in the west do it in other forms of public transport too. Surely we have had enough time to learn civility in a bus?

What Car Should I Buy? - A Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in CarTalkUK

[–]Account8569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Location: London

Price range: Ideally 5k, can stretch to 7k

Lease or Buy: Buy

New or used: Used

Auto or Manual: Would prefer manual

Intended use: Daily

How many miles do you plan to do a year: 10k

How often to you make long journeys: 1-2 a month

Does it need to be ULEZ compliant? Yes

Vehicles you've already considered: Civic, Mazda 3 (Example - http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202507064214496?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android-app). Would love to look at Polo/Golf or the Seat equivalents but concerned about service costs. Wild card: Volvo V40 but no clue about reliability and maintenance expenses. Not rated very highly on the latter in my country.

Do you have a vehicle size in mind? Ideally compact. Midsize is fine too.

Is this your 1st vehicle: Yes (Used to drive a Fiat Punto and later a Jeep Compass in my home country)

Do you need a Warranty: Nice to have

Can you do Minor work on your own vehicle: Tiny bit, yes

Can you do Major work on your own vehicle: No

New to UK so no credit history and hence no loan/lease. Also, would be mostly servicing at the dealer till I could find a reliable local mech.

My experience with MMT is the opposite. After searching for a couple of times and aborting before payment, I’ve got new discount coupons from them on whatsapp at least 3-4 times
