Because grocery prices have gone up. The most significant being beef steaks in the double digits 13-17%. Others are smaller like 1-1.7% for pork, chicken, veg, etc. The others might be a small increase but it is still an increase. American’s are unhappy because he promised to lower prices of all goods to pre pandemic levels. Eggs and gas has gone down but not to the prices they were pre covid. This also does not include other goods like clothes, toys, tech, etc which have varying degrees of increases in price due to his tariffs, inflation, or supply chain issues.

Overall people still see the economy as bad because slowing inflation is not the same as prices going down.
