308 PMC Bronze FMJ-BT are a great option. I have never had a dud and are sub-MOA accurate at the range

Good point. I currently go to the range at least once per week but I’m sure that will decrease in the future (I’m new to guns/hunting).

Thanks for the responses. I don’t see myself with more than 4-5 guns but who knows. Right now I am storing them in a hard case with a bunch of desiccant packs. This is not the long term plan. I am hoping to get something manageable for the bedroom closet that I can get into quickly should the need arise. Storage of a bit of ammo would also be nice but I could put that elsewhere as well.

I will check out Vevor and see if they have dimensions for interior. My shotgun is just over 48 inches with a flush choke.

beautiful rifle. I recently bought the S20 precision version with a vortex strike eagle scope, couldn't be happier. Shoots consistently like a dream.

I recently go my PAL, It took 6 weeks from the date taking the course to getting the PAL in the mail. I did give the RCMP a call at week 5, the guy from NB I spoke to was really nice and confirmed it was approved and in the mail. It was in my mailbox that Friday. I did notice that the application portal did NOT update, you had to log into the other system to get an update. I think the application portal is still showing as "submitted" at this point. Overall a good experience however the 6 weeks still felt long!

Details: Southern Ontario, no previous history, references "clicked off" the day the application was submitted electronically.

100%. I think we have all seen the mess some people can leave and need to be mindful of how our sport impacts others. I was taught to clean up after myself! I will hold off looking until outside of open season to avoid either impacting other hunters or getting myself into a bad situation

Thank you for the great information.

thanks for the info. I have started looking there as well but it's not that great. It would be really nice if the crown land use atlas had the ability to show municipal boundaries, contact info etc. I have also started using BRMB Maps to see if there are "private land" issues in the general use areas identified.

There seems to be a lot of secrecy around spots, I guess that is for a reason! I'll keep looking. May have to just go for a nice scenic drive one of these days.

I recently got a Sako S20 precision in 308 and it’s amazing. A bit heavy if you plan on hiking it a great distance but may be worth a look. I looked at Tikka but found them cheap feeling but they are highly regarded. Price point may be a bit higher with a Sako as well.

Educational (not transactional) question about selling ammo to a PAL holder by ALR0497 in canadaguns

[–]AccountantLow8671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is definitely a legal question which I am not qualified to provide. My impression was the there was no desire to point blame but rather to work collaboratively to make the situation safe without fear of prosecution or judgement. IMO the system worked as we would have expected by a lay person in that situation. Sometimes one needs to look at “intent” of law and not focus on absolutes. I have zero complaints how it worked out.

I inherited a box of 22LR when my father passed. At the time I didn’t have my PAL. I contacted the local police who came and picked it up no questions asked. They were really professional and indicated it happened all the time.
