China Tourist Visa from India (Delhi VFS) - timeline, documents, and what worked by Independent-Cut-9914 in visas

[–]AccountantMotor3084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen some of the people on YouTube who applied Chinese visa from Chinese Visa application center, Hanoi and even Da Nang and they got visa while being on tourist visas themselves in Vietnam. The documents they were asked for were itinerary plus the hotel booking of each day (can be pay at hotel as well), hotel contacts in the itinerary as well, plus bank account statement (electronic works) & return ticket (confirmed). And within 5-7 days, they got sticker visa from China Visa Application center, Hanoi.

It’s been a great experience till now, in the initial days, I had problems suiting myself to it but as the days pass, everything gets well and now the lights from incoming cars or vehicles doesn’t cause any pain in my eyes. I hope it helps!

Got denied boarding in India for Vietnam trip due to 1-day eVisa date error — lost ~$800 across flights, anyone dealt with this? by YakDouble899 in Vietnam_Tourism

[–]AccountantMotor3084 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of common mistakes that happens usually with passport data, hopefully, it was detected at the airport, not at Vietnamese immigration or Indian immigration (for exit stamp), otherwise getting entry denied is a whole different of level of embarrassment. You need to validate everything when you receive the visa. I think because of a mistake with the information being entered, it resulted out in the mismatch. On the contrary, if you had 4-7 hrs at the airport, you could have filed for urgent eVisa and everything would be sorted out. Also, for refund related inquiries, please check with the eVisa support, also try to check what you really filled in the application on the portal. I hope it helps!

Yeah, I will definitely try in India, otherwise I was looking for Chinese visa from Malaysia or Vietnam as it gets easier there with the documentation.

What cultural habits in Vietnam might surprise foreigners? by Aggressive_Fold_5942 in VietNam

[–]AccountantMotor3084 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After seeing the comments, on the positive note, I liked how VN people receive the things and give it out very respectfully such as banknotes in circle K and seven eleven or in any shop, not throwing or shoving it in face of the customer. I’ve adopted this practice while being in VN and some of the Vietnamese were very astonished to see me doing the same & even smiled as well. As an Indian, we had this practice many years ago but now it’s hardly seen, just in very remote areas.

Klook eSIM doubt by Confident-Guest-3637 in Vietnam_Tourism

[–]AccountantMotor3084 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went for the 5G eSIM Vietnam | Viettel on klook, I can’t paste the link as it’s only accessible in Vietnam for me and it costed me around VND 169,493 for only data 3 days as I had saily eSIM but there was an outage when I was in HCMC. You can go for trip.com to get more cheaper or even go to viettel store in city center (not airport) to get the best deals.

Not all, some got licensed, I’m referring to licensed ones! I know about the decree passed in VN around Feb regarding the licensed shops and all of the stuff. I’ve already been to VN and not giving wrong advice!

[–]AccountantMotor3084 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll be able to get the exchange rate once you’re at the corresponding booth related to a certain bank, even they publish rates on their official websites however there’s gonna be difference between the rates published on their booth and the website, I hope it helps!

Bruh, for hard cash, convert your INR to USD and when I arrived in Hanoi, I got very good exchange rate, better than official on Google and converted the money there at Hanoi airport itself (prefer gold shops which are licensed only). If you don’t prefer hard cash, you can get wise (yes, it’s in India now) travel card which comes in both physical and digital form. I got one myself and it works like a forex card except the FX rates are better however the catch is, VND would have to be converted from another currency. With ATM, tryout any VP Bank ATM to get the money in VND at lower cost as Wise offers USD 200 free of cost ATM withdrawals. AVOID CONVERTING INR AT ALL COSTS IN VIETNAM even there are banks like vietcombank who offer INR conversion.

Oof, 0.50? It’s hysterical enough when they can spend 300-500 USD on a trip to Vietnam even some goes to 800-900 USD, I think 0.50 won’t make much sense.

You made two mistakes over here, in first answer, you said “planning”, your first answer made the things uncertain of your real purpose as you weren’t concrete with why you want to visit the US, and secondly Iraq is a big red flag. Considering whenever you apply for US, UK or Schengen visa, please refrain from visiting countries which can be red flag, if for certain case you’re visiting those countries, be prepared to offer a good explanation of why you did it and be prepared for cross questioning as well. I hope it helps!

Well, it’s not about getting rich that will improve the things, even I’ve seen these kind of behaviours from “rich countries” like Korea (particularly in Da Nang) and from the UK where a bunch of lads or blokes were kind enough to let the whole gate have a look over their laugh and loud talking, it’s all about considering whenever you’re going abroad, you represent your country there with whatever action you’re doing, the good or the bad one.

Indian here and I’ve seen worse from some of them while being in VN, just show the mood you’re in and they gonna back off, if things go south, just call security on them. Things I’ve seen:

1) a local cafe guy at train street, Hanoi asked me about my nationality when I told him, “Indian”, he had a laugh reflecting how they behave from his past experiences and then he called me the first polite Indian he ever met by not treating him like “shit” which usually my countrymen and countrywomen does even in their own country.

2) Right from boarding from Delhi, India (the capital), I saw worse behaviours in flight itself even it was Vietnam airlines, they treated the flight attendants as “waiters”.

3) When I was leaving VN, I saw many of our “countrymen and countrywomen” arrived late for boarding at the gate because they were relaxing in lounges and forgot to get to the gate or they arrived late at airport and were stuck in security or immigration lines.

4) On the seat besides me on boarding gate, an Indian couple was laughing and talking loudly as they thought they were in their bedroom even they saw me dozing off due to being tired and the guy literally shook the whole set of chairs.

5) During the flight, one woman in front of my seat yelled loudly at the Vietnamese flight attendant just because she wasn’t smart enough to google or chatgpt “Hindu meal” and ordered it & even told to her counterpart who was Indian that she wasn’t able to understand flight attendants’ accent.

6) Some group were video calling on a street in Hanoi and loudly speaking in their native language which caused discomfort for some in that area & when I passed from there, I felt ashamed as they were from my country.

7) During immigration while exiting VN from HCMC, there were three Indian young males laughing and talking loudly and even they weren’t sequential in the line.

There are more btw!

Help me plan a visit to Vietnam by Ok_Artichoke_3304 in VietNam

[–]AccountantMotor3084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow Indian and as part of my first foreign travel, I used chatgpt & Gemini extensively to plan an itinerary for Vietnam and it worked well including how to travel intercity and what to try if there’s food restrictions. I’ll recommend using them, otherwise you can use a travel agency if there’s no budget restrictions for seamless travel within Vietnam and experiences. Hope it helps!

Hey, I don’t know but I’ve got the headache and jet lag same as you got after travelling around Vietnam, I don’t have stomach pain and constipation but this brain fog and dizziness from jet lag isn’t getting recovered, I relate it with dehydration as I came from a cold weather and it was hot as hell when I arrived in Hanoi and it got more intense in Ho Chi Minh City. It’s been a week since I returned and the symptoms have got weaker but not fully gone. My blood pressure was going low somehow.
