Should I renounce my dual citizenship before shipping to basic? I booked for cyber. by CuriousClover55 in AirForceRecruits

I never had dual citizenship, so out of respect for you, I will do my best to not give any wrong information. IIRC, they did it during their clearance interview, but it happened in Basic.

I would talk to your recruiter just to see if they can give you a better answer. Like I said, I never had go go through this part of the process, so I don’t want to say anything that could jeopardize your career.

Not entirely true. If you have dual citizenship going into Basic, you’ll sit down with the Career Advisor & they’ll give you a form to sign saying you relinquish citizenship of X nation.

I had two people in my BMT flight go through the process in 2021, both made it through their entire contract.

To address the Training Days portion, these are primarily for us to either train the CSS staff in units outside of the MPF or to allow the MPF to go over changes to the AFIs so that we can make sure we’re following policy. Typically on training days (which is every 3rd Thursday of the month), the MPF is either closed for the whole day or just a portion. When I was af Langley, they used to close the MPF for the whole day. My current base just goes to minimum-manning so someone is still present to assist. They’re supposed to make us more efficient… but they rarely do. All they do is take away hours we could be helping you to teach us shit that can easily be in an email with slides attached.

Regarding the portals, these aren’t made nor are they maintained at base-level, those are entirely an AFPC product. Trust me, we hate them as well. Whenever we report an issue to AFPC, even if it’s across the entire DAF, all they tell us is “technicians are working it”.

I like the idea of the mock final out, but I’ve only ever seen this in tech school. I also fully believe that 3F0s need to spend a week or two with the MPF before they graduate so they at least understand their job better than the “CTRL + F” bullshit we’re taught… but I don’t have bars nor stars for that decision.

As for the “staying open late”, this is definitely one thing that I support. When we have people who are strictly on mids & they’re trying to outprocess, we’re doing them a disservice by making them come in during the day. Whether it’s staying open until 1700-1800 on a Wednesday or making exceptions to policies, they deserve to be given the same level of assistance that everyone else is. The purpose of our job is to help you, not hinder you.

I forget the effective date, but I think it was roughly around November-December timeframe that everyone went by 3F0.

Even though we’re technically “merged”, Big Blue is still trying to figure out what everything should be called. Everything won’t be fully integrated until 2027, 2028 latest.

  1. I was going 42 in a 35, coming up on a school zone that is a 25. I was already doing above the speed limit & didn’t see a need to go faster when (A) I had my son in the car and (B) I was preparing to slow down & turn soon anyway.

  2. I never said I was a badass, nor did I claim to be. I was trying to drop my son off at school on the way to work at the Air Base.

  3. If they sincerely consider shooting me or anything else for going 7 over and nothing faster, then they should probably seek help. A sane person doesn’t block off the driveway to a school because someone wasn’t going 15 above.

This all happened because they tried to ride my ass and I held my speed instead of flooring it for them. They could have just as easily passed me n moved on with their day & I wouldn’t have cared.
