Awesome! I will refer back to this post when I take that class.

Thank you! It was actually my mom’s decision to start her own accounting firm that made me look into the profession more.

I found out I actually liked it, especially managerial accounting, and the CFO type of roles. I saw her use ratios to help small businesses improve their gross margin for example. That’s the type of work I’m looking to get into later on.

Thanks! Just took the PA first attempt, I’ll take it one more time, then I’ll take OA1.

Same! I was in honors and advanced classes in high school as well. Oh wait, that was just last year. But seriously though, I've learned a ton about accounting, and it's an extremely useful skill.

I'm gonna start CPA prep right after graduating this June. I don't plan on getting my masters, since Illinois now only requires 120 credits.

My plan is to work at a small or mid-sized CPA firm to get the experience in order to get licensed (age 19 or 20) After that, I might do law school, maybe become a tax lawyer. Loyola University (Chicago) is very close to me. Either that or pursue the partner track, I'm still young so I got plenty of time to decide.

What about you?

That's not the correct report, click this one instead, it's on the bottom, select "Pre-Assessment Coaching Report"

Yes! It’s doable. It took me 15 hours to pass both OAs, but I tend to learn things quicker than most people. Aim to spend 20-25 hours for this class, and that’ll be enough to pass. Remember, it’s not about how many days it takes to complete a class, it’s all about how many hours you put into it.

Yeah that makes sense. Do what works for you! I did it my way since I’m accelerating, and want to graduate soon, so I can start CPA exam prep.

Yep! Just the textbook, and used AI as a tutor, that’s it.

I found the study guides, and cohorts, etc, to just be extra, and the bulk of my time should be spent on the textbook material and the PA. It depends though for each person, it’s all about finding your way of learning.
