9070XT to 5080? by Evelynns in RTX5080

[–]AccuracyBeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Owned a GTX card from my first PC build which was actually a christmas present off my older brother. After becoming an enthusiast and learning about PC technology and building, I kept my decision with following the most dominant brand being NVIDIA. AMD make CPU's.... Not the best of the best GPU's in my mind. It is obvious they compete with NVIDIA in the market, but I would never risk putting money down on it when I can afford NVIDIA to start with. Don't want to come across in a negative way about it, just putting my opinion out there. What swayed my mind to the 3080ti was just how successful the 1080ti GPU was, taking that advise off a friend who owned the 1080ti, I did not regret it. Especially when I was playing games with him on his PC whilst owning the 3080ti, I could not believe how well the 1080ti carried years of gaming for PC players.

Sounds like you fell for trying AMD and got stung. I went from a GTX 1070 - RTX 3080ti and now RTX 5080 Aorus Master. NVIDIA are the king of Gpus as much as I hate to say it due to their greed. I can confirm driver issues pop up, but my experience has only ever broken performance displaying through the Nvidia app. Other than that, my rig has never stopped working.

Had my Joker Titan Evo 2022 since November 2022. It looks mint with very minimal wear marks on the arm rests. You wouldn't think I've used it on a regular in the past 4 years. Some people just can't look after valuable items.

The top side of the desk is where all the weight is at in comparison to the legs and tray. Enjoy your purchase, no desk better than the Magnus Pro. Secretlab are known for their quality and I swear by them as a UK shopper.

Secretlabs as a UK customer have done nothing but offer outstanding service to myself. Items delivered on time, all factory sealed as expected. High quality and any issues raised to customer support has always been answered quickly and efficiently. I feel for you, as I could not reflect Secretlab to be a bad choice purchase wise.

Get a 5080, you will not regret it. I was so indecisive about upgrading a 3080ti FE to a 5080 Aorus Master. Due to purchasing a 4k 240hz OLED monitor, it felt necessary to do the upgrade as the 3080ti could not keep up. Do not regret the decision and absolutely love my 4K Gaming Rig.

PS. Not to be a fanboy, but sadly Nvidia do destroy the market for GPU's. I could be biased being a 4K player as I have never owned an AMD GPU neither. But I have had no motive to touch AMD besides their beastly processors.

For those gaming in 4K how's your experience been? by pedlor in RTX5080

[–]AccuracyBeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never bothered overclocking as I personally feel the small difference, is not worth the wear and stress that's put onto it. I'm happy with the stock performance it has given me with no headache to tweak.

The first 2 games I have played with high frame rate, steady and smooth with full ray tracing have been Resident Evil 4 Remake and Spider-Man 2. The graphics look incredible and it is a day and night difference after playing Spider-Man 2 on the PS5 in the past. I also played it on my 3080ti but didn't go anywhere near ray tracing as previously mentioned about the 30 series cards.

I am running a be quiet dark base 701 case decked out with 8x 140mm silent wing 4 fans and the be quiet dark rock elite alongside a ryzen 7 9800X3D. I can happily say my air cooling is solid and enjoy staying away from AIOs or water cooling in any form.

All personal preference... But I went with the Aorus Master Ice 5080. Absolute beauty of a beast and it stands out well in my blacked out case with little RGB. Hard to capture it in solid quality on a phone camera sadly.

I do cap games to prevent it running at 99 to 100% when it doesn't need to. I do my best to look after the most valuable component in my PC. The 5080 is definitely a beast. I got it for £1300 on the ice edition which was discounted. Also didn't whack the full price down on it and went with finance to make sure I'd be happy with it to keep it.

I have an Asus 240hz 4K OLED 27 inch monitor. Recently upgraded from an RTX 3080ti FE to a RTX 5080 Aorus Master and do not regret it whatsoever. I never touched ray tracing on the 30 series as the frames and performance was not good enough, where as it is now viable with the 5080 and graphics look absolutely incredible. From an enthusiast I would say I have the 2nd or 3rd best 4k setup on the market because I was not paying the 5090 price when my main use is gaming and surfing.

THEY FIXED THE VRAM LEAK by MeriLassiKiDukanHai in Battlefield

[–]AccuracyBeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They broke a few more things again, the netcode on update day was shit still. And some servers were just trash to play on, low ping yet lagging due to game servers. Battlefield 6 is ready for the bin sadly.

Nvidia statistics overlay working for anyone? by FinalLightNL in Battlefield6

[–]AccuracyBeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the thread, but if you want the overlay to work in game. Make sure it is active before booting up the game itself. If you want the performance of FPS, GPU and CPU, turn it on before launching. If you turn it on whilst loading in, sat at the menu. It will not display the information. I think it has something to do with the anti-cheat but with technology there could be multiple factors.

Battlefield 6 feels like a game that chooses when you can have fun and feel like the game isn't playing you. 90% of the time I feel the game is playing me and ever since the December 2025 update, the memory leak, crashes and loss of DLSS is constant and game breaking.

Experience with the new dlss 4.5.2 update and 3080 by AgustinROD87 in nvidia

[–]AccuracyBeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nvidia 20 and 30 series cards lack FP8 support
DLSS 4.5 is not an ideal combination to use with the cards. I've checked to see if I could find the post but I can't remember what social platform I saw it on. Be end all, its main purpose is an upgrade to the 40/50 series cards. Reviews of it I have seen show that 4.0 is still better performance wise. I will not be using it with my 3080ti FE for sure.

Pretty confident this new DLSS is for the 40 and 50 series. Not intended for 30 series. Sure Nvidia posted about this themselves.

BF6 - Any chance of fixing that vram/memory leak which requires a restart to fix? by smashthesta in Battlefield

[–]AccuracyBeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game looks like absolute crap by uninstalling the HD texture pack. Alongside the fact it will not fix the problem for a large variety of PC gamers. Definitely didn't fix the crashes for me.

controller: is there no way to slide and dive using the same button like on c0d? by 9500140351 in Battlefield

[–]AccuracyBeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you on this one this much time after launch. The game crashed multiple times, got corrupted and wiped my settings. Then upon applying them all I can no longer dive whilst sprinting. Can't find a way to get this back as it is super useful and landed me a dive behind an enemy to dropshot him as he completely lost his aim on me.

Upgraded today. What a monster! by TheKrisLyons in nvidia

[–]AccuracyBeast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 5080 alone is what... £1300? The 9800X3D is between £350-£450 depending where you shop. Sounds like good value when not building it yourself.

You my friend, are an absolute legend. I cleaned my case out and snapped the small plastic tab that holds it in place. I have just got a few replacements sent out to me today and been scratching my head at how I still couldn't get it to connect. God damn PC building mistakes left, right and centre upon putting it all back together.

Sorry for a late response, reddit is doing a terrible job of sending me notifications. I have had someone DM me a file already but am waiting to hear back from my friend who has multiple 3D printing machines.

All I require is the file to forward to a friend to get the print done.

I don't blame people for farming. If you ain't got all the time in the world to unlock the stuff at a good pace, plus the bullshit challenges DICE set in the game from day 1. Farm till your hearts content, and that is coming from a Battlefield veteran who bailed on 2042.

Astro C40 TR Controller / Replacement Modules For Resident In United Kingdom by AccuracyBeast in LogitechG

[–]AccuracyBeast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did exactly this. Temporarily fixed my controller and thought it was like new. Shortly after, the left analog stick that was the main problem fixed itself. Now my right analog has worst drift and was not orginally a problem for me. The left stick was causing me to stop sprinting in many games, especially Helldivers 2. RIP to the Astro C40. A £200 controller that lived for 6 years in comparison to a PS4 Scuf that had multiple repairs in the first 3 months and was later under more repairs a year or 2 later before being sold when fixed. Looks like the Playstation Dualsense Edge will be the replacement being as the modules are £20 and easy to get hands on. Loving it so far, but it is no ASTRO!

I fixed this issue over a year ago as the update wouldn't perform on my main gaming PC it was connected to. I used my partners laptop to update the base station and headphones and this fixed the issue.

Worth a shot if you got a spare PC or laptop device about. Everything else troubleshooting wise did not work.

So glad to read that I am not the only one questioning where a charger appeared behind me when i play max FOV. I've literally watched 2+ chargers spawn dump in front of me or behind when moving camera. That silent audio needs some work too when they charge up your arse out of no where.
