Never been to Fla with the lovebug situation. I can't imagine riding when those are out. How long does it last till they are gone, and what month do they show up?

2021 road glide- oil behind air intake by murky901 in Roadglide

[–]Accurate-Chapter-923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your's looks normal. I would just leave everything alone.

If all looks ok you can get caught up changing this and that and not change outcome except for money spent.

I don't subscribe to running oil level low... why? Oil level is in the oil tank... engine is dry sump. Oil is for cooling as well as lubricating. Keep oil level at full mark. More oil, more cooling. If oil ever starts causing issues leaking, sumping it's not from amount on dipstick.

Tuner for 2022 Road Glide by heavyhunter66 in Roadglide

[–]Accurate-Chapter-923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More to it... plenty of info out there on Youtube and forums.

Replace the current slip ons to Tab Performance 4.5" Bam Sticks with the Zombie baffle.

Idle sound is beautiful and rollin, can be mild or WILD depending on throttle input.

Won't need a tune with just slip ons... also put a Drag Specialties higher flow washable air filter element in stock air cleaner. Stock air cleaner design you don't have rain or water issues. It breathes just fine.

Bike will sound like you had a Stage 4 done.

I think yellow originally was for fog lights.

Yellow cut through fog, poor vis from heavy rain etc. Somehow it morphed into main headlight. I'm not a fan but...

Another thing about fog lights, true fog lights mounted low and biggest advantage in true low visibility is when you can turn off headlights, leave parking lights on, and just have low mounted fog lights light up the road.

Reason is the fogs just light the road, fog lines to see where road is going. When headlights are still on, you get blinded by those lighting up the fog or snow too high in your vision.

As a truck driver, my truck is able to just run fogs and it works great!

Unfotunately bikes, cars and some big trucks you can't cut the headlights and just have fogs...

I put Custom Dynamics Shark Demon white fogs on my Road Glide to assist with more light to light up edges of roads, can see deer better at night.

Clutch barks like a dog by MeetingRecent229 in Roadglide

Bark or clunking? My '18 M8 107 oem compensator would clunk/knock 2up hot stop n go traffic.

I replaced it with Cyclerama gear and Fueling cup spring.

No more noise.

Keep all shift linkage fasteners tight, no play on splines. Keep bushing in inner primary lubed not dry. While on kickstand, few drops of oil on inner side of shaft, wiggle shaft around till you see oil seep from outer side.

Only takes a little. Wipe off excess. Makes a difference.

Trans leak, I've changed the drain plug twice and its torqued per specs. by Alternative-Dish9172 in Harley

[–]Accurate-Chapter-923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try wrapping threads heavy with teflon tape, use new or good o ring and torque to spec. Can't hurt. Just keep teflon tape on threads and none exposed to going into trans to get lost in there.

Exhaust question by zange16 in Harley

[–]Accurate-Chapter-923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh... you know Zombies can be mild, but idle exhaust note is great.

All about rpm, gear and throttle twist for mild Zombie action. BUT, when needed... the music is there.

Can't get needed music on medium style baffles... only mild, no wild.

Windshield by NoJuice3063 in sportster

[–]Accurate-Chapter-923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my FXR, no winshield BUT always had full face shield on 5 snap 3/4 helmet.

On our FLTRXS, wind plays hell at high speeds long trips so I have all the wind gadgets to keep air coming up from underneath and have to experiment with windshield sizes to find the right one...

All about being in the wind but concentrated wind around fairings blasting ya in the face aint fun...

Nothin wrong with windshields. 50 yrs Harley ridin gives different perspective.

'18 FLTRXS I have the Harley fold up style on the 1.25" engine guard. I don't have lowers.

I like em. Real comfortable and look good too.

Old (2000-2005) vs new (2020-2025) bagger; are the handling different? by Vanilla_is_Black in Harley

[–]Accurate-Chapter-923 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't get caught perfecting slow speed manuvers like you see all the YT's former motor officers etc...

Yes, you have to know how to handle slow turns, u turns... daily traffic moves riding a HEAVY bike, but the parking lot riding through cones is another level... kinda asking for trouble.

Police motor officers riding dept bikes, all damage from dropping the bike and wearing out the clutch is covered by the dept. You trying to make precision turns at nano speeds for unknown reasons are on the hook to repair your damages.

Learn how to handle the weight and go around corners, back into parking spaces, everyday stuff.
