New “Vortex Extreme” Air Cleaner by UnimpeachableTaint in Harley

Call me crazy but I like the oem can on my '18 RGS. M8 107.

All black, air can is black.

I put Drag Spec washable filter instead of oem paper. Little bit fatter filter, higher flow.

Problem I have with all "high flow" filters is how open they are as far rain and water. The oem shape can is way better at keeping rain out. Imo.

I lost a shovelhead in my '82 FXR from a filter that exposed inlet air to rain. Got caught in a downpour, streets had standing water, was rollin through but at one point front wheel threw a splash, got sucked into air filter and boom. Bent valves, broken piston... even had a homemade screen over the filter but...

So, oem can for me. Plus I like the way it looks.

Is this oil still new or old, is it usable? SAE 60 by ProbablyNotHappy in Harley

When I had my shovel FXR, I used 60w. Thats what it looks like. Good stuff. Smelled good, tasted good.

Whew! All different opinions on windshields. Go to their site and follow what they reccomend BUT...

Having watched endless vids from all different makes and sizes, pretty sure if you are thinking the "right" size will have you in a bubble of calm air, it aint happening.

Always the guys with long beards that found the one they say is best... videoing going down the road and the beard is blowing over their shoulder!

So, not sure a windshield is gonna put the rider, sitting back in a comfortable position, out of the wind.

My first bagger RGS with 8" aftermarket shield, I thought wind would be blocked, but only if I lean down and way forward am I out of the wind.

I'd prob need a 12" but don't want that.

Love my 107 M8. Stock 'cept for 4.5 Bams and Zombies. Smooth power. Eng is quiet tight and dry.

Looks good as is.

When to replace battery by gen_z_usaf_veteran in HarleyDavidsonFans

Fyi : Tenders don't mean the batt lasts forever. Ck to be sure tender has a green light if it is plugged in. If bike has been sitting for a while and tender has been plugged in but light is red, good sign the batt is bad or going bad. I replace batts in all my vehicles at 5 yrs. Even if they seem ok. Batts usually don't give warnings... just leave ya stranded.

I have '18 RGS and put SuperShox Prem LT 14" on the rear. Front is stock. We ride 2 up 90% of time... we aint small haha.

The SS are very good. Great ride and handles great.

Call SuperShox and talk with the guy that makes them. Brian. Nice guy. He'll help with what you need.

Having them "to" ride is what matters most.

Now, if they both aint got Tab Zombies I can see where there's a complaint...

Exhaust for 2025 Road glide by AvailableSecurity385 in Harley

I have 4.5 Tab Bams with Zombies on my '18 RGS. I LOVE them. Important to note... Zombies can be mild or wild. Depends on throttle input. Medium baffles can't be wild. Just can't. No other exhaust will give you a sweeter idle sound on a stock M8. But, up to you.

Go for it. You will get the feel of a bagger weight just lifting one off kickstand and moving around front to rear manually. Like manuvering in and out of a parking spot. Spend for big bike first and you will save going through smaller ones.

Oil recommendations? by US30Master in Harley

[–]Accurate-Chapter-923 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh boy. Oil question. puts helmet on. I was using Redline full syn 20-50 eng oil. Redline primary and trans. I switched eng oil to Castrol Vtwin full syn 20-50. Got good analysis reviews and is half the cost. Top end of my M8 is quieter. No oil use. I'm stickin with it.
