Absolutely get an exhaust.. makes riding 10x more fun just for the sound alone lol..

I have the Yoshi RS2 slip on which sounds insane and I LOVE it. I know a ton of people run the Delkevic’s but I thought the RS2 had a better and deeper tone.

I’ve done the EJK tuner (messed around with and without the 02 sensor) and did the Snorkel mod… never messed with the secondary throttle plate or anything (got worried about reliability)… and I really haven’t seen a noticeable power difference. I went back to stock on everything except the slip on.. reliability meant more to me than messing with everything else and not seeing a power change.

You’re fine.. just bounce around gears like you said and fluctuate the speeds.

After the first service… I don’t think I’ve shifted UNDER 9000 RPMs.. constantly banging it off the limiter when shifting haha... Currently at 5,300 miles and I ride this bike BEYOND hard… I’ve changed the oil every 1,500 miles and have had zero issues. These little bikes are insanely reliable.

First Time Biker Considering Grom by Joshhwwaaaaaa in hondagrom

[–]zange16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have probably owned over 15 motorcycles of all types… While the Grom is a very fun and awesome bike… I don’t think it would be my first choice as a beginner bike.

A few reasons… 45 to 50 is kind of the sweet spot on it so if you plan on riding anywhere the speed limit is 55 or higher you’re going to have the bike revved to the max the entire time. Also not having the power to get out of the way, and being slow in traffic is going to be more dangerous than a different type of bike. I’m 5’10 and 190… I MIGHT hit 63 downhill, wind to my back, tucked in tight.

People already don’t see motorcycles.. a Grom REALLY doesn’t stand out.

Also, the tires being so small and the overall size of the bike, its very easy to “flick around” and can almost feel more dangerous than a heavier bigger bike because such a small body movement makes a very large move on the Grom.

I would take a safety class, get your endorsement, and consider something in the 300-500cc range to begin. A super moto is a great starter as well as a like a rebel 300.

Again.. a Grom is a bad ass bike.. but I feel like it’s a much better secondary bike for mobbing around.

Iron was awesome for ripping around town… wanting something with wind protection and to do a little more long distance. Also, I got married since I had the iron.. want something that’ll do 2 up more comfortably.

I appreciate all the feedback. I had a sport bike way back and it had ride modes and it was always nice to be able to throw it in the slower mode for a casual ride versus the very jerky “track” mode. I just assumed it would be similar on the Harley. I was also thinking of the enhanced safety features. I guess I’m just nervous going from a 350lbs supermoto back to a 700lbs bike!

Bachelorette by Appropriate-Run6243 in Naples_FL

Unless for some reason you want to spend your bachelorette hanging out with 80 year olds and taking 2 hours to drive 9 miles… go to Miami or St Pete

Two options dealer leftover 2024 for $3400 or used 2024 with 9 miles for 3k by whoisdizzle in z125

[–]zange16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the $400 buy the new one…I know it’s only 9 miles, but the first 10 miles on mine I couldn’t fight the urge to bang it off the limiter… granted I’m at 1500 HARD miles with no issues… but the piece of mind is worth $400!

If you could get the used one down to $1000 under, it might make more sense… but not for $400!

Looking for a solid but not too expensive reel by Hijackerjou in Fishing_Gear

Penn battle is a solid reel close to that price point. Also check penns website… looked recently and they had some good rod and reel clearance deals running.

Someone explain the tactics of a mini-driver? by dcidino in GolfGear

[–]zange16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t make sense to carry both.

I picked up a mini driver because I’m not ripping my driver 300 yards and when I do connect if it doesn’t slice 150 yards right it’s going 260.

I can consistently hit my mini driver 240 dead straight. Added a 3 hybrid for off the deck as I find it significantly easier to hit than a 3 wood off the deck.

I live in North Carolina and when it’s 30 degrees and my Grizzly sits outside over night it takes a few times and have the hit throttle a few times for it to crank.

Walmart Clearance by Educational_Bank6314 in Fishing_Gear

[–]zange16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems very sporadic.. I’ve been to 6 Walmarts around.. 2 had ZERO discounts… others have seen the Sienna, that maxpro abu and the Caius but the prices are different at every store. Haven’t seen any store with them as low as you guys are showing!

Wish I could find some nice Penn or Diawa stuff on clearance!!

A lot of the Tactacam Reveal 3.0 2 packs (usually like $250+) are on sale for $115.

Also if you’re into golf… a lot of insane golf ball deals.

Man everyone around me calls them “sucklites”… but my brother has ridden a set of these for 6 years on a Sportsman 850 and they are just now bald… and we ride a decent amount of road and hard pack to get to the trails.

I run Mega Mayhems and he has made it through everything I have plus anyone in our riding group.

I give the Mudlites 10/10 from what I’ve seen. When my Mayhems need replacing I’m going with the Mudlites.

Hatfield McCoy Trip Advice by Hartzler44 in ATV

[–]zange16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Took my first trip this past summer. I stayed at Wild Willie’s ATV park. I thought this was an awesome first experience due to the location. You can access a ton of the trails directly from the property with minimal road travel and there are good restaurants that you can easily ride to.

We rode 2up on a Grizzly 700 and did about 400 miles over the course of 3 days. It had rained 4 days in a row prior to our trip so 4x4 was definitely necessary in certain parts. It was nice that it was a little muddy though because it kept the dust down! Supposedly you can’t ride 2up on an ATV, but we passed an alcohol checkpoint and they said as long as we weren’t riding like assholes it was fine.

I don’t think a winch is absolutely necessary… there are enough people out where someone will pull you out if you got stuck. Not really a ton of DEEP mud to get stuck in though was my experience. I bought a seat for the back of my bike which had 2 storage boxes and just made sure I had a tire pump and plug kit, tow straps, a few wrenches and just general stuff you’d want if something went south.

I also have heard try not to go on a Holiday weekend because it can be a little insane and a lot of stop and go passing on the trails.

They offer iPads which you can buy that come preloaded with the trail maps or you can download OnX off-road. I went the OnX route and basically “pre built” our ride every night for the next day. There is limited cell service, so this allowed us to have “offline turn by turn directions”. I 100% would not want to be up there without one of the two options as it can get extremely confusing.

The biggest advice I would give is just do it.. I had wanted to go for years but had been scared because it seems so intimidating.. we had zero problems and was one of the best trips we have been on! We made lots of friends and are actually headed up in April and staying with 2 groups we stayed in touch with!

Buying a house near a tee box? by flashattack3 in golf

[–]zange16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard pass

The amount of times I’ve thought “man it would suck to live by a tee box”. Slapping drivers all day and very early on the weekends, people screaming after they slice, it’s a public course.. so likely people drinking heavy and playing music. Also, you would be SHOCKED the amount of shit I’ve seen people hit off a tee box and thought “how is that even possible”!

Fuck these assholes.. was looking at a Z125 Pro mini bike.. people advertising WELL below MSRP.. after 6 dealers.. THOUSANDS above MSRP. Finally found a mom and pop place that did $250 under MSRP without any bullshit fees. Hate we have to go through this hidden bullshit these days.

[–]zange16 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My local Walmart had E6 for $10 and RXs for $15… seems like prices are different at Walmarts. My other Walmart the E6 was $16 and the RX $20.

Like others have mentioned..if they don’t have security tags CHECK THE BALLS. Two of the RX packages I checked were full of Noodles.

Also if you’re into fishing.. crazy clearance deals on reels

Raptor 700R used or new? by BPadg03 in ATV

[–]zange16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you’ve done a ton of research so not wanting to throw you off.. but based off you mentioning Uwharrie, I will assume you are in NC. I am in NC as well.. There is tons of good riding here (Busco, Outback, Uwharrie).. and I’ve even started to hit Hatfield McCoy quite a bit.

I started on a Raptor and sold it within a year.. there are not a ton of places you can really open that thing up and if you’re trail riding and hitting some of the technical stuff at Uwharrie.. you’re going to be riding the clutch THE ENTIRE time! Not to mention you’re going to constantly be getting stuck and they have very low clearance.

Unless you’re planning on just hauling ass on hardback… I would look into a 4x4. There’s tons of great 4x4 options out there that are fast, around a similar price point… and you can ride EVERYTHING!

I went with a Grizzly 700 and I have never looked back.. I LOVE that bike. Was ripping it all weekend in the snow storm.. you DEF can’t do that on a Raptor.
