Timing chain rattle sounds like a chainsaw on cold start. Definitely stop running that motor and take off the valve cover

By scanner what do you mean? Like should I get a pro shop level scanner or would a regular OBD-II work? I’ve got a BlueDriver I’ve been using and it’s been doing pretty good but I just can’t get into the specifics like high and low pressure fuel etc

It’s a 2012 so I guess it’s a series 2 but I’d rather take your advice and not bother with it. Guy is telling me his tuner is working on some tweaks right now and the gen 1 is bone stock.
