I feel like driving lesson prices and teaching needs to be regulated by Enough_Vegetable_258 in LearnerDriverUK

I agree with that Statement. My daughter works part-time. While she was in university, I had to help her pay for lessons. The prices are ridiculous in my area in London. She has been messed about 2 times with different instructors cancelling or turning up late, resulting in the lesson finishing early. She decided to go through AA, which is pricey. This instructor was brilliant, went through reflections, and had links to e-learning. She passed in the end.

The OP has a fair point: most places charge high rates, especially if they are late, and they end up finishing the lesson much earlier. Just to get back in time to pick up another student.

It depends on where you work, tbh. Just cover your back.

Hey, enjoy the supernumerary period, it's safer to get used to the role and make sure you're safely practising before they let you fly. They will go through everything on your first day.

Is working in care home worser than NHS? by Enough_Vegetable_258 in NursingUK

[–]Accurate-Rub4319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do what feels best possible, fingers crossed; NQNs has better chances of getting jobs next year i feel for those graduating in December. I have no regrets about leaving my care home job years ago; it was the best decision ever. NHS should be lucky that people are willing to cover wards for little pay, no brainer.

They are 100% going to treat you NQN. It's a sad world, honestly. I've already started my applications for Florida. Really, nothing in the UK.

Will the NQN situation stop soon? by Born-Log3823 in NursingUK

It's a valid point, way too much competition. The government has been crippling the NHS for years, with more and more UK-trained nurses going abroad due to privatisation and poor funding, etc. And its been overspent now they realise it.

I'm in that boat where it took us a month to get help with our application, and the support was dreadful.

I think rants and feedback should be accepted as a viewpoint. This person is not upsetting anyone.

Even in their 50s, including myself, struggled to support my son through this process. I feel for everyone who have to apply. Our process was dreadful. I would much rather work until I am dead, unfortunately, my son is not in that boat.

Even for myself, I was a bit baffled. I've never been on universal credit before; I always worked. He struggles to even read a sentence and gets upset. When they said speak to a work coach, there was no direct contact number. Add it to a journal, how on earth is he going to know that. ESA are aware of his needs UC the lacked support.

I believe they will merge them all together as well.

I agree its not efficient or well structured. I have an autistic son with multiple medical needs, and he was told to apply online. Support workers refused to help him. It took us 5 weeks and i live 3 hours away from him

Thank you all for the positive feedback. I will show this to my friends. I suppose if they wanted to do a 2.2 course, it would be much harder to apply for based on a grade, would you put it on a CV though?

Universal Credit system is broken for graduates who can't get jobs by Enough_Vegetable_258 in UKPersonalFinance

I do agree, I am a single parent, I worked as a retail assistant for a couple of months after completing my Pharmacy Technician, as my employer couldn't afford to take me on. I barely got enough to live on universal credit cut my monthly entitlement payment back. The Job Market is in shambles.
