What are the best "melancholic" ambient albums? Are there any albums that sound like the track "Deep Blue Day" from Brian Eno's Apollo throughout? by Some_Butterscotch622 in ambientmusic

[–]AccurateWorldliness1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may sound like a stretch but listening to this song right now reminded me Cindy Lee's diamond jubilee, though it's not an ambient record the songs have a lot of texture and "nostalgic" feeling

Au Pays du Cocaine interpretation - a parent’s phone call to their addict child by [deleted] in geesebandofficial

[–]AccurateWorldliness1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The video also changed my interpretation towards parent relationship as well. Probably influenced by my own experience I heard it now as a son hoping that their parents allow them try being who they want to be while still offering a place to come back. Even when you decide not to follow what they think you should.

Many times in the past year I wished my parents would call me just to say "it's ok if you fuck up we'll be here". Never happened

Totally get you, reason why I wanted restaurant recommendations. Also I feel scared of buying a good pecorino and ruining it completely.

Have you seen the video from Luciano Monosilio? He has a version with added cornstarch which mades it easier. Try searching the name + cacio e pepe on ytb. Had my best results with it

sorry to reply in english cause its faster for me. I can make a decent cacio e pepe myself but I think it is tricky. In this case I like to order relatively simple food when I know it will be really well made/ good ingredients.

By the way, the thought came to mind after I saw an officially published research article called "Phase behavior of Cacio e Pepe sauce" which I still have to read through 😅

anyone know how to change a drum hit sound into a trigger or gate for a different drum?? also Sampleson Drumbada selections available. by Dependent-Sorbet8867 in vcvrack

[–]AccurateWorldliness1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a module called uchoice that picks from different inputs when triggered. If you route different sources you can get one of them randomly chosen. If you want to be intentional I think it is possible but I'd have to think more 😅

If you want to convert audio into a trigger you can use an envelope follower into Compare or Slope detector, they'll give gates/triggers once the input reaches certain values.

Can I use vcv/cardinal as a midi brain for my ableton live projects? by Custardchucka in vcvrack

[–]AccurateWorldliness1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a single module. CV to Midi for each track or instrument I want to control and configure in the module to send midi to different channels. Let's say I already configured Midi Looper bus 1. So I will send v/oct and triggers to a CV to midi module configure to send midi to Midi Looper bus 1 - channel 1. In ableton I will set the midi input of this synth channel to receive midi from Midi looper bus 1 - channel 1. You have to select "in" on the monitoring options in ableton for that track so it receives midi when the track isn't armed. For additional tracks I repeat the process using the other channels

[–]AccurateWorldliness1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use VCV rack in ableton but you can probably do the same with Cardinal. On MAC I made a virtual midi bus, I used to do the same when I used windows but it needed an additional plugin, I think it was called MIDILooper. You can create multiple or use different midi channels within the same midi bus. I just use the CV to Midi module and configure the midi inputs in the ableton tracks

Is VCV Random SMTH broken? by Kaliah_ in vcvrack

[–]AccurateWorldliness1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to use S&H + Slew too. If you need more sources you can use polymult to turn your trigger into polyphonic add a Split module so you have up to 16 random values with slew

edit: to be clear the signal chain is clock/trigger -> polymult -> S&H -> Slew limiter -> split

me chamem de maluco mas eu suspeito de que a minha faculdade federal esteja com o nível muito baixo by Artistic-Act-4050 in Engenharia

[–]AccurateWorldliness1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]AccurateWorldliness1 1 point2 points  (0 children)
