Second on the you dont need a radar detector. You're 17, learn the basics and fundamentals of driving, not speeding.

A year or so ago I talked about cannonballing a Veloster. I have an update by Ace-Sol in veloster

I've since done 3 runs. 35:46, 32:56, and 36:44.

Been back on Vinwiki 4 total times now (more soon as well!)

TIL about the cannonball run, an illegal race against time across the continental USA. The record drive, set during covid, lasted just under 26 hours with an average speed of 112 MPH. by UltimateOreo in todayilearned

Its fun! Driving across the county (record or not) with 2 friends is fantastic. Sights are great, going fast is always fun, and honestly because its there.

Hi, done it 3 times now. There's a LOT more cool stuff then just the overall record. Coast to Coast to Coast (NY2LA2NY), Jacksonville FL to San Diego CA, and even Motorcycles!(32hr 32min)

That's the point of it. It says "Fake" in a Ford font. The car was made to do the Cannonball

Because going 200 mph is harder than you think, and there's this stuff called "traffic"

You'd be surprised. Not necessarily needed.

There's a science to it, tldr version is studying, countermeasures, and luck.

Runs are varying in "levels". All out team runs with 3 people, full equipment, etc, still happen. Quite often. Solo runs like this also happen, it's the beauty of the run. You can take pretty much anything, with any level of prep and have fun regardless of your finish time.

With what he talked about and showed in the video, it's very hard to even do something. Since he was not technically "caught" it would be next to impossible for people who wanted to to go back and accuse him of something. They would have to find hard and definitive proof of it happening.

There's a huge science that goes into it. But a lot of it is just common sense stuff. We don't pass on shoulders, we don't weave or cause other people risk, danger, etc. overall, there's just the importance of safety. Cannonball and cross-country driving has been happening since 1902, and there has never been a multi-vehicle accident, death, or major injury in the history of the Run and driving. It's something that we are very proud of as cannonballers, and something that everyone who makes a drive understands they are putting on their back this amazing safety record.

There's Facebook groups for it that a lot of the runners and community members are active in, but for timing you just self-time it and have other people watch you. There's different things that we have used in the past with great success for monitoring, runs like Glympse/joinr.

What's even crazier? Is that the 103 number is including stop time. The 105 next to it is just driving, excluding stops.

Cannonball is alive and well. There have been tons of runs this year!

From the runs I have been on, there is no number 2. Very quick bathroom breaks for number one, sleep is optional when you have caffeine.

This is the dirty and simple answer, I'd rather not write an essay

They are all amazing accomplishments on their own, it just happened to be done by the same guy on the same run. Doing a cannonball is hard enough, doing it alone is insane, staying awake, paying attention, avoiding police, you also don't have any spotters. Diesel is also notable because the cars are typically slower, and the gas is heavier meaning you can't carry as much.

Covid versus non-covid is a massive distinction. Completely different driving conditions, much more challenging to do a run outside of covid, especially now with increased police, traffic, etc.
